My first self build, Budget:1800

It is a good thing, but a Z77 board will have that feature too.

I'd also agree with Idleman and go for the Hyper 612 if you're not overclocking or even going for a chip that can.
Actually, I'd save even more and get a 212 or something in that price range.

I might overclock later on once I am more tech savy hardware wise.
I know in previous posts I said I wont be , but I will keep an opened mind.
I just want a decent mobo.
I will take a look at what you guys have suggested.

Edit: how about this if i saved longer ?

YOUR BASKET

I like what they are saying about it.

Is all you really need.

Has built in wifi and better power management for overclocking (still not strictly necessary, but nice to have)

Just a couple of examples. Plenty more to choose from.

Trusty's spec above will do just fine. With your requirements you aren't really missing anything by spending a shedload more on a fancy motherboard.

You don't need to spend £180 to get a decent motherboard.

The Gigabyte Z77-D3H is a decent motherboard and costs about half as much. If you need more features there are several variations to choose from that'll still be a lot cheaper.

I am curious , What do the people who do spend that type of money on a motherboard do with their computers exactualy ?
What sort of cool stuff do they pull off with mobos like that ?

Pimp value, severe overclocks, e-peen extensions, a few extra fps here and there...

I'd go with the Gigabyte Z77X-D3H. Good price, SLI/Crossfire etc..

Just read this link you posted http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=536454 and i can`t` see where it faults Nvidia 670/680.
Also this link shows http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2012/04/23/intel-core-i7-3770k-review/7 shows a [email protected] and a [email protected] with only 1 fps between them.
From what i can gather with this game, getting your settings right makes the difference.
Well, up to 1920x1080 with 4xMSAA you get some decent numbers with a single 680 or 7970. But 8xMSAA is really a killer in S2.

Also since those links all date back till April, Nvidia released a new driver in May.

If they do it won't be enough to worry about.

BTW are you selecting Windows 7 Professional for a reason?

Yes , I have 16 gigs of ram and someone once told me that each edition of windows only can handle so much ram and that the most expensive edition can handle the most ram.
plus more features of course other than that.

Good point actually.. but there is noting posted about how the 670 or 680 does with shogun 2 or fall of the samurai now after the update.. I really want to play it safe with the graphics card I get.

Home Premium will handle 16GB.
Professional/Enterprise/Ultimate will handle 192GB.

0.o holy...
Thanks btw this will save me money..
Do the more expensive editions make computers run anymore efficiently ? make them less prone to a virus ?
I will have to look up the difference between the features, of each one , I am currently on a windows xp PC.
I was previously going with the more expensive one because someone told me I would need it for 16 GB's of ram and also it having more features, which is always a plus.

Win7 HP will handle 16gb. You need Win7 Pro if you want 32gb+:D

Yeah as brennen1874 said 192GB. :D
(good to know for when my brother gets into video editing big time..)
he also wants to do CG along with his video editing , I would like to learn to do CG myself.
Not that we will ever need 192 GBs of ram....LOL
