I think that was his plan all along. No other explanation.

I have filled an application for the CICA now.

Wow!

The last thing you expect when you query the price of a Bill is to be called down to a garage and have the **** kicked out of you.

I have a feeling you'll get a fair bit out of this.

God I remember the original thread!
What a nut job that garage owner is. I'd be doing everything within my power to make his life / business hell from now on.
Compensation
Business and personal name dragged through the mud.
Banners mysteriously erected outside his premiss
Any trade clubs he with would get a letter about his conduct and his court result
Watchdog would get a call, along with Rogue traders etc..
etc

Damn good luck to you in fighting this one.

Yay for making stupid and uninformed comments, and then backing down

I didn't back down at all. Exercise helps against depression and if you become good at boxing or a martial art then you won't be as anxious about being beat up again.

Then what was your "sarcasm detection" comment all about?

Undoubtedly - That doesn't mean you should come in here saying that someone should not be on anti-depressants. You aren't remotely qualified to make such a judgement. Whoever prescribed the pills will be well aware of the benefits of exercise to depression and serotonin imbalance, and to suggest otherwise is a little insulting. Who are you to say that the OP should not be taking anti-depressants? What makes you an expert?

Agree to disagree/shake hands and apologise and get back onto topic maybe? :)

RTM if you think I'm out of line. Last I checked you were not a mod, nor a member of the "on-topic" police. I'm simply growing tired of people who jump into threads and criticise other people's medical diagnoses - like the 'experience their mate had' or 'the article they read in the Sun' makes them some kind of expert. Would you tell someone what anti-biotics they should be taking? Would you tell someone how long they should be on chemotherapy?

Besides anything else I don't think giving medical advice is well received on these forums. There are rules strictly forbidding it - and for good reason.

Anyway, I've said my piece.

Instead of anti-depressants I'd recommend some boxing/martial arts lessons.

I used to do kickboxing and ju-jitsu, I got injured and I've not been able to use my left arm properly since. The assault has greatly aggravated that issue because he was putting his whole weight on an arm that doesn't bend. It's worse to the extent that I can't even pick up my kids properly for any length of time now. Which I'm sure you'll agree could be quite depressing.

Would you tell someone how long they should be on chemotherapy?

I'm supposed to be on MTX which is a chemo drug, but I had to stop after I got assaulted because my mouth got all ulcerated and infected and my immune system couldn't sort it whilst I was on the pills. :o

After a night out once I ended up in hospital...I was that drunk I cannot remember what happened, just woke up in hospital.

Ended up with a few stitches in the back of my head and a major hangover/head ache!

Anyway cut a long story short in the end I think I got about £500. I did not have to do anything was all sorted by the police/courts.

Now your situation seems a bit more extreme, and I would actually be tempted to push for quite a bit and possibly even try going through a lawyer - plenty on people out there doing no win no fees, if not look into the possibility of a better lawyer and claiming the costs from an insurance policy you may have legal expense cover i.e. Car Insurance. (I am sure this is possible please check though!)

It may vary case to case or between regions, but when my friend was intentionally run over his CPS representative gave him options for compensation, in his case there was only one choice because they never caught the guy. However I would have thought it would be dealt with as part of his sentence, have you spoken to the CPS about it?
