Anybody know the best network to choose for reception in Keswick or, more specifically, Braithwaite in the Lake District? I've been on O2 the last few years and that is fairly poor up there. Does anyone have experience of a network that has good (ish) reception?

Can't help you other than advise you spend a few tenners on some PAYG sims before signing up to any contracts. It'll give you an idea which network may work for you where you live. I live in the sticks and was with T-Mobile. Tried Vodafone, Three and O2. Three were better than T-Mob who aren't bad here. O2 and Voda were shockingly bad. No doubt they're good elsewhere, just not here.

Orange is usually regarded as the best but obvisually depends where you are, I would recommend getting an Orange PAYnGo sim and check out their signal strength in the places you need it.

I've never found Orange very good in the Lake District or for that matter the Scottish highlands (tho thats another story). Vodafone was fairly good up that way last time I was there, bit patchy but generally could get reception, O2 very hit and miss with getting reception at all but good when you got it.

EDIT: From a quick look at the coverage maps for that area Orange and Vodafone are pretty much identical for coverage and the best choice(s) by a mile compared to any other operator, O2 especially is really lacking in coverage there.

Thanks. Will try Vodafone certainly and Orange or T-Mobile. Won't Orange and T-Mobile's coverage be the same now they're linked?
