They sure don't feel like the weight they are... I just found it a bit dis-heartening after driving other more focused things that didn't seem like much of a downgrade in comfort.
I can understand the logic behind the swap for motorway use - great cruisers - I just don't think I'd be able to do it unless I could afford both.
My next road car purchase/lease (if I'm still in this country) is going to be either E92 M3 or Cayman. If I end up in CH, I don't think those will change - but if I go to US, it's going to have to be Z06
What people want from cars, changes with time
Right now, he clearly wants a good powerful cruiser
OK so when your blaring round corners at 7/10 tenth's or more this might not be as good
But, if thats not the priority right now, he's got a soft top, + a great noise and looks + comfort + that stonking 500hp supercharged V8, i know i'd much rather one of these than a Cayman
And i'm sure the cars handling is also perfectly fine, for driving around on most roads, all these great handling cars only ever seem to come into there own when being pushed moderately hard in magazine tests and most people dont really drive like that, so a lot of the benefit from this handling is lost on everyday mortals driving to the road conditions rather than the cars ability
The benefits of a soft top, comfortable ride, great sounding V8 and 500hp that shoves you right back in the seat, can be felt every time you turn the key and start moving
For some thats not enough, for others thats more than enough to put a big

on the face, i'm in the latter camp, I like the Cayman, but i think i'd get more smiles from a 500hp great sounding V8, than i would from great handling which is itself is a very subjective thing.
