I hope he gets life and the Lame British Judicial system which bats an eye lid for so called "celebs" doesn't let him off with a slap on a wrist.

Manchester City starlet has been arrested after a horrific smash that killed two and left a teenager fighting for his life.

Courtney Meppen-Walter, 18, was held following the devastating smash on Bury New Road which took the lives of a 37-year-old woman and her 32-year-old brother and inflicted 'life threatening injuries' on one of the woman's two teenage sons who were sat in the back.

Police were called to the scene at 10.15pm last night following reports a silver Mercedes had been in a collision with a red Nissan Micra.

The man, who was driving, and the woman, in the passenger seat, had sustained fatal injuries.

The brothers, who were in the back of the Micra, aged 16 and 17, were taken to Salford Royal with serious head injuries.

One is said to be stable while the other is 'very poorly'.

Meppen-Walter, who was driving the Mercedes, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. A second man, 19, who was driving a grey Volkswagen Golf, was also arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Highly-rated Meppen-Walter, who was born in Bury, is yet to play for City's first team but was a regular for England Under 17s.

He is currently out of action with a knee injury.

Police said both remain in custody for questioning.

Officers have launched an appeal for witnesses.

So....he hasn't been charged with anything, he hasn't been convicted and you've shown us no evidence that he was driving dangerously, yes, GIVE HIM LIFE!!! WE SHOULD BRING BACK THE DEATH PENALTY FOR THIS SCUMBAG!!!

Or...we could wait for him to be charged and put through the justice system before make judgement.

OP, I've found a website which I think you'll absolutely love - www.dailymail.co.uk

Let's hope that like everyone else, he is given the presumption of innocence until the charges (if indeed any actual charged are laid) are proven beyond a reasonable doubt, and then, and only then, is he sentenced relative to the crime committed and not prejudiced by his position in society, either positively or negatively.

Hope as much as you like but "life" wouldn't appear to be a sentence available if he's charged with, and convicted of, death by dangerous driving.

Death by dangerous driving

It is also infamously hard to prove Dangerous Driving, many cases are reduced prior to charges being laid to Death by Careless Driving or are not pursued at all as the evidence in such accidents is hard to quantify.

obviously the footballer is guilty here due to the fact he is a footballer and a celebrity

lets all string him up before any further details of the incident emerge

(would also note there were two drivers arrested)

Reading what Surveyor posted - I don't get how you can have degrees of death by dangerous driving?

Also some of the mitigating factors seem a bit of a joke:

Offender was seriously injured in the collision
The victim was a close friend or relative
The offender's lack of driving experience contributed to the commission of the offence

None of these seem very "mitigating"?

In a society where money, fame and status gets you off murder I'm sure they will lessen the degree of murder to make it seem like accidental death.

The police must suspect street racing, there's precedent where drivers racing on the street both receive sentences for causing death by dangerous driving even when the other car isn't involved in the crash itself.

Hmmm, the law is clear with regard Death by Dangerous/Careless Driving.....Murder needs premeditation and intent.

You really do have an unnecessary chip on your shoulder about successful people and a misconception about how the justice system works, particularly with regards to the presumption of innocence and attribution of blame in car accidents. I'm sure that if there is sufficent evidence to charge the drivers for Death by Dangerous Driving they will be held to count for their actions, but thankfully in UK we have a system of justice that doesn't prejudge based on opinion and bias, it deals with what can be legally proven and not arbitrary judgements based on nothing but assumption and prejudice.

I always thought it was a coincidence that I always seem to catch you post rubbish, but I now realise it is because you post rubbish and you have several chips on your shoulder.
