Guild Wars 2

basically its sever vs server. so for example if your Home server is desolation there will be 3 main types of World vs World.

you will have Desolation vs Y server, Desolation vs X server and Desolation vs X vs Y. Eternal Battlegrounds is the free for all which is the X vs Y vs Z

here is a good link :) http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/World_versus_World

Thanks for that, cant use the link as i am at work :( after a week of playing Gw2 :( :(

what are the benifits? Like server buffs or summit like that? or is it just another way to level up and have a PvP match.

WvW queues yesterday were gridlocked. Normally on Desolation I'd be on within fifteen minutes, but I queued numerous times yesterday, to no avail. :(

Today I need to have a mooch round the mystic forge, crank my Sylvari Guardian up to 30 and see if I can level up my crafting so I can use the mountain of Iron Ore I appear to aqquired.

Server buffs and a fun way to level up (as I dont like arena style PvP or timed battleground style pvp, the WvW is much more akin to the RvR I used to so love in Daoc so I do WvW rather than the arena pvp)

Love the game but how do you start crafting and at which level.

So far the ingame guides haven't spoken about it or dropped hints as to where to start?

Can I do all the professions or am I only allowed 1 or two.

Seen lots for crafting mats drop and at one quest was even given the reward or a hoe, ax or pick but no option showing me how or where i can use them or turn them into something useful?

Can't read the wiki at work :( I bought the game direct from arena do they have a manual with it?

You either need to grind for the materials or buy them from the tradepost when it's working.

I've leveled armour smithing to 400 and working on weapon smithing now. It's more than possible to do them just takes dedication and time.

I am salvaging everything and just doing the starter zones. As I said I have now done pretty much 3 of the start zones and have managed to get mats to get me to 60 leatherworking. On the other hand I am overrun with mats for jewelcrafting, so it seems to me that there is a massive imbalance. I certainly shouldn't be forced into buying from the trading post. Hopefully I'll have enough mats by the time I've finished all the 1-15 zones anyway, but I can't imagine that it's intentional that you should have to complete every zone just for mats.

I would reccommend leveling crafting whilst leveling, I know I've gained at least 10 levels with very little effort. After you have finished leveling finishing off your profs won't be such a grind either.

Frenzy, as I said, I'm now level 30 just from doing the starter zone and one 15-25 zone (first two Sylvani zones before moving on to Asura and Charr starter zones). After completing the Sylvani starter zone I had about 20 leatherworking, and had only come across about 10 peices of leather.

To get to level 80 do you have to do the other starting areas as eont that make a run through on another character a bit pointless?

Had it installed 4 hours on my laptop and had 8 crashes, 2 which were BSOD :/
Official forums seem to be down so not hopefull of getting any answers soon :(

That happened with me to begin with. Usually a memory error or somesuch, BSOD or it would just freeze my PC on black screen.

I installed the latest BIOS for my system and that worked perfectly. GW2 has worked perfectly since.

It's not an imbalance, people just are'nt farming the right mobs, Jute for instance is easy to farm if you know where to look.

I highly recommend checking out http://gw2craftmap.bteamgaming.com/ :)

I just generally do everything pve and 100% the maps as I go and end up with tonnes of leather from salvaging scraps. Just use higher quality salvage kits.

Sigh. I am killing every single mob I come across because of this. Yellow mobs, red mobs, hell even white mobs. I have tried the crafting maps, I have tried the zones that apparently have great drops for leather in each of the zones I have so far done, and I am not getting anywhere near the same number of items as ore for example, or wood. I have over 200 things of green wood, and well over 200 copper ore, left over from levelling up crafting on other characters. I have in total come across about 50 pieces of leather, over almost 3 zones, and your telling me that is not an imbalance?

I'm also most definitely not the only person who has this issue.

By the way wvwvw I've not gotten to because every hour or so I get disconnected to the character screen and have to go back in. This is why i'm usually on overflow and never in pvp lol cos I cannot queue. Trying to find where the dark brown area point of interest actually is top right of lions arch when I get home tonight......it's annoying me as I climbed up tonnes of stairs to a ship/retaurant type place and can't get further back into the rocks to check out the other POI

leather and especially jute is rare, always lagging behind due to them and the daft little items you get off mobs. I hope I'm not going to have to farm mobs like a crazy man in this game but I can see it coming!

Pr0tip:
Don't go up, go under ;)

I'm always short on the extra stuff for crafting like weak blood, just never have enough to keep crafting at the same level as my char. I'm maxed out in stacks (250 in bank) for the basic crafting items. I'll need to grind areas for these drops which is a real shame as so far it's not felt grindy at all.
