My first self build, Budget:1800

No probs fella.

You sure that's what you want? It's a fair wad there.

EDIT: Holy ****bags, it's 5am... Ok, while I'm here, I'd also say to give those £12-1500 suggestions some real thought too.

Yeah I was thinking the same about the time, I will give it some thought before I hit the pay button and thanks for the help.

The phanteks heatsink will clear the ram. As he'd have to raise it (the fan), whether he can run a front fan depends on his case clearance. If not, he can use the fans at middle and rear.

Morning btw :) Insomniac pc nerds... lol

Are you still using the Corsair ram, only asking, as you are now speccing an air cooler.

Yes, an Air cooler was always the plan.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Cooler Master HAF 922 Case - Black £94.99
Total : £106.69 (includes shipping : £9.75).

This is my case, how will I have to mount the cooler ?
Okay... bedtime for me and good morning!

("If not, he can use the fans at middle and rear.")

Okay this is where the confusion started, it seems as if your saying if it doesn't fit I will have to mount it all weirdly.
or are you talking about the cases fans ?
If it doesn't clear the ram , I'll just have to cut the fins off of it.
Will it fit in my case though "the cooler master 22 haf" ?

From what I can gather, yes it'll fit.

You'd mount the cooler normally.
You change the positions of the fans on the cooler. (front/middle/rear are your options. Instead of the standard front and middle, you'd have to put them at middle and rear as you'd have to raise the position of the front fan to clear the ram, but then it'd probably clash with the side panel)
Performance wise, it'll make no effective difference.
The cooler will clear the vengeance ram.

I originally spec'd the K2 to avoid this kind of confusion since you can just use the 120mm fan on the front.

It's a fair bet that having that fan on the front with your ram is going to cause issues, therefore middle and rear is the way to go.
What the hell, just run a centre fan if you want :)

oh thats not good news, i might actually change to AMD if i am going to get issues with nvidia.

will have to do some research

thanks for this information

Guys on the total war center forums , said its fixed now with new drivers for Nvidia.
and that they are performing better than the Amd cards now.
Think I will stick with AMD myself to play it safe for Rome 2.
I don't want to have to wait for nvidia drivers to play it.

I will figer something out if I cannot have the fan in the center.
I can always ask for advice on the forums here.
Know of any good tutorials for putting the fans in the middle and rear ?

Mate... Please read it again :)
You've got the wrong end of the stick.

You don't need tutorials to put fans on a cooler. They have clips. You clip them on.
There are no special procedures for putting them in the front, middle or rear either. It's the same for all.

Centre fan is not a problem. It fits just fine.
The front fan is the problem because of your ram.
This means that the front fan will probably have to be moved to the rear position on the cooler.
The centre fan stays where it is.
