I assume he means the Z77X-UD3H because AFAIK there isn't a Z77-UD3H, and it's about £50 more.

There are other Gigabyte Z77 boards with SLI/Xfire support that are nearer in cost to the Z77-D3H if it’s a feature you’re interested in.

If you aren’t interested in SLI/Xfire then the Z77-D3H is a perfectly good choice.

Also whats the difference in the thermal compound i have chosen and the one that comes with the cooler, roughly how many degrees different

not with OCUK unfortunately if you want the best prices you need to shop around, if i was on a budget like yours i would be scouring the globe, get some bits from here, some bits from there etc, i love OCUK and have bought all my stuff from them apart from my case but it is a well known fact they are not the cheapest for everything.

Never mobo didn't support

Try these, as it'll give you more clearance under the CPU cooler you've chosen: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-114-GL

The ram you've linked to is a very good price, especially as it's a high speed ram, you'd need to check ram clearance height first though if you really want them?

I'd keep the supplied TIM from the cooler and ditch the AS5, saves a few quid and probably nothing in it temps wise :)

This seems like a nice build by bacon

except id fork out the extra 5 quid for the below ram while its on sale

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-133-GL&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517

and then if you could borrow 8 quid off a mate till your next pay day, i would get the below heatsink for cpu while its also on sale

How good? Good enough for a stable overclock, its a better version of the 120 which is roughly equal the Matterhorn Pure
