Ok guys, need some opinions\tips......

Full custom loop

RES/D5>EK Supremecy>360 60mm EK Rad(Fans pulling air outside of case)>sli gtx 670 EK blocks>240 40mm EK Rad(fans pushing air through the rad)>RES/D5

10 hour prime test.....

My ambiant temp is 29degrees

My GPU temps are 26degrees and 31degrees Idle
My GPU temps at Load are 42 and 47 degrees after a couple of mins stress testing.

Am i being paranoid? Daft? Pedantic? Or have i, how do i put it, "lost the silicon lottery??"

All input wont be just helpful but also appreciated :D

If your GPU temp at idle is 26 then your ambient isn't 29 ;)

It would be better if you used realtemp to monitor your peak temperatures, prime has peaks and troughs in how hard it pushes the CPU even though it shows 100% load, I can give you coretemp screenshots at 100% load showing temps in the mid 60's or in the high 70's depending on the prime cycle.

point is though, it cant be the real ambient. because no fan is good enough to reduce it below that :)

ok so what woud be wrong then? GPU or all of my temp sensors? Whilst i understand what your saying, im posting what i see.

Juat opened my window and the sensors have now dropped to 25degrees and funny enuff my GPU temps have droped to 25 and 30. Just posting what i see my pedigree chum

See now im confused. My temps which looked really high before have now dropped to around the mid 60's which for my overclock, im would be very happy with. I have my window open every night and never had such low temps on a 4.6ghz OC.

I give up for tonight, going to go and watch twilight instead with the Mrs :(

you poor guy :(

in other news: could be a dodgy or inaccurate temp sensor.

but i wouldnt worry at all. you have a lot of heat going into the loop so its not suprising its slightly warm with all three heat sources pumping it out.

what are the temps in games like?

Temps in the 80s for a 4.6ghz overclock are normal. With Ivybridge there is negligible difference between a high end air cooler and custom water loop. The poor heat transfer prevents anything other than LN2 from doing a good job.

Cool, at least i can breath easy now. Finished a 24hour Prime95 test this morning with no errors. Started realtemp last night and the max temp was 81 degress. I think my GPU temps are ok so the loop must be doing a job. Was looking at replacing the TIM in my 3770k by deliding it but fought against it. Cant really see the risk outweighing the gains at the moment.
