Wiper blades that don't suck

So it seems finding wiper blades that don't suck is still impossible.

Brand new Bosch ones fitted about 2-3 months ago. ALREADY they are making an annoying noise towards the end of travel when wiping the screen.

GRRRR

Have you tried adjusting the fitting? They may be too tight, therefore creating a lot of friction unnecessarily.

Just a wild stab, I've never had issues with wipers except for when I have left them too long before I changed them! (laziness)

Fox, do you use rainex on your windscreen? I find using that seems to lengthen wiper life drastically. I guess the film it leaves on the screen somehow helps?

I've recently bought and fitted these, they are great so far... will report back in a few months!

Had some wiperblades.co.uk branded ones for a year on my old car and they were fine for 6 months then started to be really noisy, hope these ones are better :)

I have found wiperblades.co.uk own brand to be really good, no special care apart from giving them a wipe with the wash mitt when I clean the car :)

i just used BMW OEM ones. £30 inc del. Quite expensive, but normal bosch ones at like £27 and i just really really wanted wiper blades that didn't suck ass.

That and RainX (the stuff in the normal bottle NOT the stuff combined with window cleaner) makes for a good rain clearing experience....

Repeat, if you get RainX get the pure stuff, NOT the spray bottle with window cleaner mixed in.

The Valeo aero ones have been fine on my Cefiro for a year or two now. They are starting to go at the moment, I think the pile of sand that got dumped on everyone's car in a recent rainfall may have finally killed them.

I'm just going to get another set of Valeos I think.

I'm bumping this thread for wiper talk.

I fitted Bosch Aerotwins day before yesterday. They're very silent and clean very well at both at 30mph and at 70mph. Let's see how long they last.

They do look quite neat :p

What ever wipers audi use and I can say they work really well. They grip (for want of a better word) to the screen great! :)

The mini however, not so good. :o :p

You don't scrape on budget tyres which utilise rubber to keep you on the road. Don't scrape on windscreen wipers, which, use rubber to keep you on the road. ;)

Please can someone link me to PIAA Super Silicone Wiper Blades for a 2004 Honda Civic please? My Google fu is weak on this one. :(

Edit: Not to worry sorted. :)

Need new wipers for my Almera now I've got the linkage fitted, on Halfords website so I can get some on my way home but there are 3 sets all within a tenner.
Front from Halfords as 16 quid, bosch is 20 quid and then there are ones that look rather odd. They are called the Valeo RetroFit Flat Blade R53, ( http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_784965_langId_-1_categoryId_165620 ).
No reviews on their website though.
Any hints?

I replaced a set of generic random make blades with some Bosch Aeros a few weeks ago and I'm really impressed so far. Absolutely silent and no smearing. I get a couple of very thin arcs of water on the screen on the up stroke which are cleared on the down stroke but compared to what the old worn ones were like, they're fantastic!

I bought some about 3 weeks ago for my mondeo. They are excellent. No idea about longevity though. They are also thinner than all others I have seen, much thinner than the ones at Asda.

Well yeah, I'd be a bit concerned if brand new wipers (regardless of brand) were poor compared to worn wipers :p:o

One more question: spoiler or no spoiler?
The current ones don't have any and the Valero don't either.
The spoilors make the Bosch the most expensive but I'm not sure what the spoilor actually does for a couple quid extra.
