Guild Wars 2

AC = Ascalon Catacombs (lv30 dungeon)

CM = Caudecus's Manor (in Queensdale) (lv40 dungeon)

No. Vistas are vistas. Jumping puzzles are just that, hidden puzzles, that aren't signposted, but if you figure them out you'll get a medal reward, a chest, get to see stuff you wouldn't normally, and a feeling of pride and accomplishment :D

An easy one to get you started is in LA, NE corner, behind the waterfall ;)

aw man I wish I knew that, I got the vista last night and then started the puzzle but didnt make it to the end lol I got to the bit where the lights go out and you got to make your way jumping from ledge to ledge. Am I on about the right one>?

Pure evil stuff (in explorable mode) full of constant party wipes, lots of broken armor, 15+ silver repair costs, and awesome awesome loot :D

I only got 35 tokens from CM so far, pugs keep on quitting and only managed one full run with a guild group.

You do them in story mode once, then you can repeat them in explorable mode which is immensely difficult and the hardest content in the game but with awesome loot and lots of chests.

They need to have a warning attached to them though, they are completely unpuggable in explorable mode without many people raging.

Thanks :)

To be honest I like the exploration side of the game and find it plays well for the casual player. But, I find anything group related ie dungeons (AC, story and explore, at least) and PvP to be a boring zergfest of shoot, die, run back and repeat.

Very very few tactics, I am finding it more of a play by numbers game than WoW (and i am not a fan of that).

It has no subs though so is doing no harm with the odd hours here and there I put into it.

Ah the one you're talking about is the one in the SE, the pirate cave one by the sounds of it, where theres a room that's really dark. Good to have a torch off hand for that part :D That one is epic! So long!

Yeah if you get to the end of that you get a chest and a medal reward.

Yep that's the one. Not sure how you're supposed to do that really! Luckily I happened to be with some Elementalists so they generated some light for me!

You're doing it wrong then, dungeon play is heavily cooperative, managing boons and conditions.

Yeah thats all fine. But if people die you just run from waypoint and continue attacking, bosses don't lockout so it makes it a zerg.

Boss mechanics are pretty none existent too, even the dumbest of people can dodge what mechanics they do have.

I know PvE isn't the main aim but I found the PvP dull too.

I had a torch off hand, so everyone was following me across, i'd jump, then 10 people would follow a few seconds later, until we all got over :D

Was great fun that puzzle.

If you can chain and keep protection + regeneration up on all your party in dungeons, it goes a lot easier. The one thing I couldnt stand was CM butler route and the path full of traps with 3 silver ranged mobs at the end of it.

Lot of skill involved, its a lot of zerg in WW but if you can play your character you can do some difference. Know when to dodge vs not.

dungeons should be hard, MMOG been too easy for most the last 10 years.
all the wow community who expect easy pickings.

I don't think thieves really have a way of generating light (maybe cluster bomb a tiny bit but not for very long!)

Just on the point of dungeons on this game and my experience with them so far in terms of the difficulty....especially with a PUG group.

I find the lack of control quite frustrating......I know they have removed the Trinity, which is great for getting groups together, but this in turn leads to complete chaos when it comes to trash mobs.......when you have packs of 3+ mobs that can litterally attack whoever they please, of which some can litterally 1 shot some of the squishy classes, I find im spending most my time bringing people back to life.

There is a massive lack off CC, so that mobs litterally have free reign to hit whoever they please and with no tank to take the damage people just drop like flies.

Its only a small gripe.....I love the game and am really enjoying it.....I guess im just not used to not be able to control a situation.....its just about focus killing a single target and hoping you can do it before everyone dies or hope the other players are good enough to dodge the damage....which sometimes isnt possible.

I dont want them to make it easier, as I do love things being difficult......maybe I'd just like more ways to control mobs with tactics.

No I dont think we can :( but there is a torch further down that you can pick up. But its on a timer so you have to be quick.

Now I have to have a go tonight when I get in see if I can make it to the end again. How do you find other ones? or is it just luck that you find them?

Simple fix for me would be to buff blindness to the same as it was in GW1 to last for the full duration and provide a constant miss chance. Theres also nowhere near as much damage mitigation like GW1 had from stuff like Reckless Haste / Blurred Vision / Ineptitude / Clumsiness. I know they took out hexes, but really all of these things could simply be handled by GW1's version of blindness, but reduce the miss chance to around 50-75% based on how many times its stacked.

We have no more interrupts for spell casters either, like in GW1 you pretty much just took 2 mesmer heroes everywhere and they shut every mob in the game down with ease.

I tried using Mist Form / Armor of Earth / Arcane Shield utilities, and all they did was enable me to survive 2 more hits with excessive cooldowns and only made me far less effective than having my signets equipped instead. I just dont see the point to equipping anything on my eles utility slots other than signets of fire, earth and air, nothing else helps as much and I also get two CCs and a huge damage burst from clicking on those signets too, which is incredibly more useful than a 3 second mist form, or a 5 second shield.

One thing I hate though - the written in stone perk that makes signet passives permanent when clicked needs 30 trait points in Earth magic ... erm yea right, not maxing out power + precision from fire + air on an ele = gimp. Trying to max toughness and vitality instead makes you able to withstand another 1 or 2 hits, as I've seen from Guardians with such specs who still die just as fast as my ele does.

Just exploration and noticing a path and thinking... 'hmmm, I think I could get up there'... then jumping like a loon until you figure it out :D

I've only found a few so far:

- Urmag's Secret - Behind the waterfall NE in LA
- Pirate Cave - Behind the Vista in SE of LA
- Raven Cave - Norn starter area, cave on the W of the map I believe
- Floaty Rock - Sylvari starter area, in the spiral

and a couple of others I can't remember :o

But there's a big list of them in the Hero window medal panel.

How do you guys make money?, i'm struggling to stay in the gold as i spent my money on cooking items!

Quite easily using the trading post when it is not causing issues.

I put 4 78-80 yellows in the Mystic Forge last night and got an Exotic 80 one handed Guardian sword. I checked the cost on the Auction house and some guy had an order in for one at 5g. I sold it and quite a few other bits, mainly mats and sigils and when i logged of last night had 13gold.

I am currently spending more than I am making atm just because I am crafting and need to start using the next tier of mats I have lol

Where Is the best place to get the mats for a leatherworker?

Lower level but I find money easy to build up when not crafting! Stopped doing so for now as items are so cheap on the market, much cheaper than I could make them for.

Killing mobs seems to earn more money but less XP than doing tasks etc, if you level via tasks, exploration etc and not via killing mobs a little bit you'll need to stop now and then and do a little mob bashing.

People dont' seem to realise at low levels just now expensive porting to waypoints is, make no difference at level 20+ but under 20 you can run very low on cash quickly if you're using waypoints too much.

I'd say get the lower level XP% and Magic Find food, it helps quite a lot as me and a friend found out last night. Although we used the 30% Magic Find and went farming and made around 2gold from all the drops.
