My friend has an upgraded Packard Bell iMedia with an i3 530, 8GB Ripjaws, HD5770 and a StealthXStream II 500w.

We want to overclock his CPU as it is stuck at 2.93GHz and many 530's are good at up to or over 4GHz with decent cooling.

Is there any way to unlock or flash the BIOS on his motherboard?

If not we will just pick up a second hand socket 1156 board from somewhere.

Thanks all :)

Run cpuz this will give you details about the motherboard, make, model, bios, etc.

But, I think sourcing another 1156 board is a better option.

Have a look in Members Market, usually a few for sell, put up request for one in Wanted section.

Packard Bell H57M01 is what CPU-Z says, looking at the physical board now, can't see anything conclusive printed on it.

Wasting your time looking for another bios, googling Packard Bell H57M01 doesn't bring up many results.
Better off looking for a decent 1156 board.

I doubt that is the actual name of the board, to me all that says is Packard Bell, H57 chipset, model 01... It could just be CPU-Z getting it wrong could it not?

Packard Bell don't actually manufacturer motherboards, so it must be another brand of board with their name all over it surely?
