The Range Rover still has to be the world's best off-roader, says Land Rover. An afternoon watching at the Solihull proving ground demonstrates they can do the apparently impossible. Wheel travel, for example, is 50 per cent greater than a BMW X5.

I think Toyota has that one sorted.

It's not lighter than a 3 series, you're quoting it out of context! It's the chassis/monocoque that's lighter than a 3 series, it's still a 2,500kg+ car!

It's not that heavy! TDV6 is knocking the 2.2 ton region. 420kg saving.

Bet it'll be closer to 2.5 in TDV8 and fully specced with kit

I did mean to edit it back again as I found figures between 2.5 to 3.2 on the web for L322. It's an impressive weight loss, but there's too many people reading the misleading articles to say this beast is lighter than an F30!

Do love the car though

I don't particularly like 4x4s, but I like the RR. With the right colours, options (or deselections!) etc they look much classier than the competition IMO. With the wrong options, they can look much trashier though

Not really been a fan before, SUV's generally are not my thing, but the last RR looked ok to me, the only SUV i could see myself buying

The new one takes that a step further to the point of actually quite liking one!, maybe i'm just getting old...
