Hi, i since my case felt a part i decided to buy something better.
I was thinking of

NZXT H2 calssic
Fractal design R3
Bit Fenix shinobi - white/black
Corsair 300R

I want a budget case and dont want to spend a lot of money.

i'd say, 300R or shinobi.

but its down to personal taste

The 300R is the better case of the two but neother are particularly well suited to a 'silent' system.

Out of those listed the Define R3 is best suited to the OP, it's marginally cheaper/better than the NXZT and is geared towards being quiet.

Define R3 of what you list. I have R2 and love it. Want a new R4 though don't really need it. :)

Add a 140mm intake in the bottom and raise case up so you have 50mm clearance for better airflow to bottom fans. Quiets thing down too. I made a caster base and removed stock feet. Case is now easy to move too.

None of them are really silent apart from the r3. The only case that gets close (apart from r4) at that size is the 550D

kd

None of them are really silent at all.

Interesting.. I must be going deaf because I have to be within 2 meters of my R2 to hear the PSU.. and have to take panel off or open front door to hear other fans.... under 50% plus load I can hear the fans at 2 meters.. just. But at 90% load I can hear it from 3 or 4 meters :)

Edit: I can't hear the wife at 10 meters.... But she claims it's not a hearing problem., but listening problem:D

Pretty true really. I have a very well setup R3 where PSU whine is the loudest thing, but hey, i can still hear it when i'm in a room with all windows closed and just reading.

To get fully silent, you need to be very careful about how you set it up with fans, the PSU, HDD's, etc. Having a normal PC with stock coolers on the GPU, won't all-of-a-sudden get you silent, not even close. But it may get you quiet compared to what it was.

Corsair 550d gets good reviews.

The price is way other my budget.
