looking for a gaming chip around £100 quid, read this recomended in a budget gaming rig, just wondering if this is the best for the money or wether an amd or other cpu manufacturer would be a better buy

I believe any H77 or Z77 mobo should be compatible. Ask OcUK for a list of boards they stock which can run this without any BIOS updates required for POST.

Bulldozer was poor in general, Windows did not cause it ;)

Piledriver looks to be a 10% performance increase but thats not really competitive enough unless a lot cheaper than Ivy and Haswell will be out next year...

i read that it recognises bulldozer as 8 seperate cores but its not 8 seperate? (im not the most computer literate mind), so it could have 2 quing for 1 core and 3 idle cores, was looking at an 8150 for my build but went i5 instead

looks like be my next purchase for a cheap games machine I will pair with a 5850 for now is the stock cooler loud?
is it worth getting a z board or an h?
