You need to stop it with the cheesy one liners. She'll have heard them all a thousand times before if she's even remotely pretty.

Next time you see her, make a mental note of the following things:

Hair colour: As in from root to tip. Does it graduate or is it the same colour all the way through. If it graduates, she'll dye it. That graduation is your benchmark for next time. If she's a natural, just take note of the style. Then you have a way in next time she does something different with it.

Eyes: As in eyeshadow colour. If she's got quite expressive eyes chances are she'll like to play with colour, blending and using quite bold shades. Usually a girl will go with either eyeliner and mascara with neutral eyeshadow or brighter eyeshadow with minimal eyeliner. Take notice of all these things.

Then, next time you see her, notice what's different. Mention it. Girls love anyone noticing anything about their hair and eyes. If she's interested, she'll respond :)

I see her at work, only ever ran into her outside starbucks once in the co-op near my house on her way home from work so she isn't exactly looking her best. But i see your point. The problem is that i DO notice these things, i notice these things with people at work, I just choose NOT to mention it on purpose, only because everyone else does and I feel like i am stating the obvious and it feels like i am paying a compliment when in fact i may not like the new hair lol

If you are noticing these things you need to use them, whether you're telling the truth or not :p

There's nothing wrong with a little white lie to massage someone's ego and I guarantee even if she doesn't react very much to your 'noticing' of these subtle things, the boxes will be ticked in her head.

The more you can think like a woman, the better chance you have of getting one ;)

I know she's going to Toronto and getting an iPad there later this month (amazing how much info I got from getting coffee!), will ask her about the trip when she returns :p

Ask her out for lunch then :p

That will be your best bet. Inviting someone to dinner first up is always way too loaded with intent. She feels compelled to dress up a bit and it's a tad awkward if things don't go fantastically well.

Lunch is much more relaxed. She can dress it up or down, turn up in her work clothes or whatever if she's just come back from the gym. There's no pressure to stay right until the very end and it's more like having an informal interview for a job with your line manager than a stuffy grilling from the MD.

Get in there before she leaves for Canada, make it worth her while and let her stew for a while when she comes back.

Although today I fouled it up big time. I sawed the centre column to make it a short column tripod like my primary tripod (helps get lower to the ground) and then decided I wanted it even shorter...being a man I decided I would not measure how much I needed and just drink tea and 'get on with it'.


I have just purchased a replacement carbon centre column for £18 :eek:


Lesson learnt :p
