Djokovic running riot...1-1, early break in the second, this will be over quickly.

Ferrer has been like a Deer staring into the headlights today.

I'm not sure if anybody else is watching this but Azarenka, after losing the 1st set is really taking the fight to Serena. Serena appears to be buckling.

Good final it makes a change seeing a closely fought contest in womens tennis, I wish they would ban the screaming though Azarenka is as bad as Sharapova.

If Murray wins this, I don't know how they cold justify givig BBC sports personality of the year to anyone else. He even won a gold medal in one of the most competitive sports in the world.

I've gone nuts and put £100 on Murray to win at 2/1.. :o

I popped a bet on this.

Wiggins being the first ever British winner of the Tour De France, the toughest sporting event in the world, as well as winning gold in the Olympics not enough justification for depriving the Scot of the title?

The toughest sporting event in the world? Distance doesn't make something toughest sporting even in the world. Wiggins wouldn't have the fitness to play a proper game of tennis at a professional level and Murray wouldn't be able to do a Tour De France in a competitive time. Sports are different.

The importance of the sport (to the general public) ultimately matters and Tennis is more important.

I disagree tbh, it's more about air time and anything that's whored by the BBC will get more notice in SPOTY.

Maybe, but if Murray wins this the hype will be massive. Should probably wait for that to happen first though :p. I reckon it's a good bet. The person laying bet says I'm wrong, so we'll see.

I bloody hope he does win it! He absoluely HAS to take the first set though or the doubt will start creeping in. Although he's mentally tougher than ever, it's always going to sit in his mind the previous 4 defeats. He took Djokovic all the way in Melbourne so nothing to say he can't again and after destroying Fed at the olympics will boost him big time.

Very windy out there...and we saw how much Djokovic struggled against Ferrer in these conditions, lets hope there's a repeat of his first set performance throughout ;)

I think cycling is bigger in this country now than tennis. Cavendish had 49.47% of the vote last year. 4 times more than his closest rival. The cycling vote may get diluted (Hoy\Trott?) but I just can't see Wiggins losing. Besides, Wiggins has a personality.

I hope Murray wins tonight but I can't see it unless the weather works in his favour.

Whatever the conditions it's both players who need to cope with them...not just one.

Whoever adapts best will win if it does indeed remain windy!
