Croydon never fails to amaze me - Bike Thieves

Why didn't they try and catch one of them? There were quite a few opportunities where they could have wrestled one or two to the ground and called the police.

Because that's the time when you get a metal bar round the back of the head. Best just defend your ground really.

They really didn't have a clue what they were doing.

They had weapons, I don't think anyone would want a hammer to the head!

I had the misfortune of living in Norbury (about 10 minutes from Croydon) for 6 years. Nothing that happens around there surprises me, it truly is a complete dive.

What were they planning on doing with the stolen bikes exactly? I doubt the store is stupid enough to leave the keys in them. So they couldn't drive them away.

If they wanted to get professional about it, get a large van + ramp, reverse up to the store, immobilize the shop staff, roll about 6 bikes on, off you go. Could be done in about 2 - 3 mins.

The bikes at the front of the shop are easy pickings as well, that cable they have around them would last about 10 seconds vs petrol grinder.

I presume they were going to take them to some sort of van anyway, if they're brand new then I doubt there's enough petrol to go anywhere far, if any. Let alone starting the bikes without keys.
