This is my PC spec:

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2Ghz Overclocked to 3.5Ghz
12GB Corsair Memory
AMD 6870 1GB Graphics Card
500GB Hard Drive
160GB Hard Drive
Bluray Optical Drive
330W SeaSonic PSU

I know my SeaSonic is going to blow one day. its 6 years old and it has to power all of this.

I'm a student so I'm on a tight budget.

I currently thinking of this to buy.

Any suggestions

Please for the love of god DO NOT put that system under much pressure. Thank goodness the PSU is of a good make :p

The recommended PSU wattage for your system is around 480W at 100% load, so out of the two you mentioned I would definitely be inclined to go for the OCZ.

Personally I would want to scrape together a little more money and get a 550W+ PSU just so there is a little headroom.

Something like this perhaps? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-002-LA&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=

YOUR BASKET
1 x OCZ ZT 550W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular Power Supply £63.98
Total : £63.98 (includes shipping : FREE).

At 100 posts you will qualify for free delivery. That's almost a £10 saving, so it's worth discussing your options.

A modular PSU is a luxury but if you have a midi tower case they can be extremely handy. Because you only use the cables you need you don't have an excess of cables blocking airflow. Better airflow equals better temps in the case which helps as you are overclocking. The OCZ ZT i have spec'd above is fully modular and has a 5 year warranty, it's easy to remove the unit from the case to clean it. Many modular PSUs are semi-modular and have the 24pin and P4/8 lead hardwired to the PSU so removing them is a bit more troublesome once installed.

The ZT is a fantastic PSU, the only reason I didn't mention it is because the OP said he is on a tight budget as he is a student.

I was hesitant to suggest it too for the same reason. I wanted to point out that he can work towards the free P&P. That money saved can be pushed back into the budget to improve the spec of the PSU he buys. Seeing as he will have it for quite some time (his old PSU is proof of that lol) it makes sense to get something worth having ;)

Fair point, well made :)
