iPhone 5 Detail Today

Well some are to features to catch up other phones. Tabbed browsing and syncing, full screen browsing, priority mailbox (filters). Automatic SMS reply on call rejects.

I very much doubt it's A15 in this - will be first shown on Apple in the next ipad.

This has probably more core's and/or a clock bump. 32nm

"You need the new 2x faster GPU for those features, sorry" :p

I'd like to question that phrasing they've used. 2x faster to me suggests that it's 3 times as fast as the original. So if the old one did something in 1.2 seconds, this would have to do it in 0.4. If it does it on 0.8 that's 1x faster.

Either they've made some serious improvements, or that's some cheeky wording. (And me picking holes in it :p )

They're referring to the chip speed or possibly memory bandwidth etc combined. Not the fact that everything flies around the screen 2x faster :p

To be honest Lumia 920 is as good if not better.

Now just need to wait and see what the next Nexus devices bring to the table.

Yeah I got what they meant, I just dislike the dubious wording that always seems to come with this sort of presentation.

Apparently it is A15 according to anandtech. So maybe they got some extra information.

edit:

big risk to take if presumably they are also switching to 28nm, i suppose it could be 32nm if they get Samsung to make it.

Good news if so.

While it's a 'meh' launch, as we knew what to expect... it still does look a great device overall and the iOS improvements seem logical for the most part.

Whether I get one will rest on whether the battery is a lot better than the S3, I suspect it won't be better by much.

Even if it is an A15 core, it's still MEH as ios has always been fast and smooth. Software needs to be refreshed to make a A15 shine.

Nothing very exciting on this front today. Next important date will be 5th of November with Google's launch of new products.

How often do you hear the phrase "1 time faster".....?

That's because people say twice as fast.

Anyway...

Will be interesting to see how apps adjust to aspect ratio change. In Android apps automatically adjust to other resolutions without a complete redesign, although it is suboptimal to a redesign.
