Just thought I would a thread pointing out an excellent customer service experience I had with ocuk today. It can sit on top of the mountainous pile of other praise threads but it just shows why ocuk have the customer base that they do.
Heres the short (I hope) story:
I am in the process of building a new PC - majority is coming from the other half for my birthday on 17th - all I had to get was the processor and GPU. 3570k already ordered at this point so it was just the graphics. Nvidia not really floating my boat at the minute for price/performance (and I have had Nvidia since the 6600gt so no brand loyalty involved or anything). Wanting to spend around £200 and no more, the 7870's looked the best bet (7850 cheaper and can overclock close to the 70's when both overclocked but this is jsut going to be a lottery for nearly the same performance) but which one?
A few weeks ago I saw the preorder offer that was put out on the VTX7870 x-edition cards for £180 - I thought this looked like a pretty good bargain and ordered one - eta 3/9/12 on the card so plenty of time.
Today comes and still no card - in fact the card no longer even shows on the site at all and is 9 days later than originally thought... in between work I decide to post in the customer services section of the forum to see if I can get an update - Enter 5UB....
The original eta given to them was wrong and no official time scale can be given - oh noes, no beered up Skyrim modding for me on Monday....
A very quick back and forth and now there is a new HIS HD 7870 IceQ scheduled to arive on my lap tomorrow. A better brand, a better cooler, a better card and a happy customer - but what about the price difference I hear you asked (lol who would ask that?) - wavered by the legend himself, 5UB.
Just wanted to say thanks for the best customer service I have ever had.
tldr
reordered a card that didnt come out when it said, I cried, 5UB felt sorry, got an upgrade, the peasants rejoiced.
(Not going to check it for spelling as BBQ pizza is waiting so grammer nazi's should have a field day)
