Ok Folks I am looking for some more advice

I want to mount my Plasma (51”) to a Stud wall and try and drop some of the Cables down the back of the Plasterboard and pull them out at the bottom for my other A-V equipment

All the videos that I have looked at you you-tube look like they are from the USA and they all seem to show them fitting Power Sockets at the back of the TV’s

I don’t want to do that too much work does any one know of a Tutorial showing how to do it the way I would like to or close to doing it that way and I might be able to adapt it for my own use

Thanks again Lee

Should be fairly easy to do...

Just Find the studs and mount the plasma bracket to studs
Make hole in plasterboard behind plasma screen to drop the cables down
Make hole in plasterboard at bottom of wall to pull cables out of..

The hardest part will be if the studs don't line up with where you want to mount the plasma bracket.

Some people use these double socket face plates for the holes the cables go through

One thing to consider is that there is usually a horizontal noggin at about 120mm from the ground, might have to make another hole in wall to cut large notch for cables(make it extra large to accommodate future cables) then patch wall to hide

If the studs are no where near where you need them i have seen people screw a large panel of 3/4 ply to the wall paint it and then fix the TV bracket to this with either coarse screws or coach bolts

What ever you decide to do beware of hidden cables or pipes :)

as said above if you don't hit the studs (usually 600mm apart) with your bracket then you need to spread the load. Get some 18mm ply and use lots of plasterboard fixings and also some gripfill to mount it. you're bound to hit at least one stud so get some good long screws and put plenty of fixings into that stud. As also said the problem you're also going to have is noggins. in the uk i doubt you'll find a noggin at 120mm from the floor, but you will find one approx half way between floor and ceiling. you've either got to break out some plasterboard and make a big hole through it or not run the cables in the wall.

I ALWAYS put my noggins at 120mm in any wall i build:p That way i know exactly where they are for fixing to(horizontal line @120mm then noggins 1up 1down)easier to nail them this way:)

Others i know put the noggings @120mm in a straight line so that they can use the plasterboard's longways i.e. 2400mm horizontal

do you mean 1200mm? i.e 1.2m or 120cm from the floor? if so then that's basically what i'm saying.
