Samsung Ace 2 VS. Galaxy S2?

Yeah, I also rather go for the nexus despite the CPU/GPU and camera not being as good as the GS2, but the screen and stock JB with fast/regular updates/good support makes up for it.

What about the one S, isn't much more expensive iirc? But wipes the floor compared to those 2 overall apart from the storage of the GS 2 and the screen in terms of res./size and support of the nexus and it doesn't have NFC like the nexus.

I would go for either S2 or the GN, the S2 has a better camera, SoC, GPU, storage option and i would say battery. the GN has better software, design, screen, and is cheaper. End of the day both are amazing.

My gf has a GN and I would personally take it over my S2, love the software keys, JB is amazing (although I already ahve this on S2 with CM10), and 720p really is the way forward.
 
I just bought my gf a Nexus. She has no clue about technology.

She immediately got excited. I showed her a few basic stuff and then she learned how to use it in 2 days and fully comprehend everything.

I've got an S2. The Nexus for me has the more sophisticated design and a very, very nice screen, however the difference is not too much, it is a little bit crisper but nothing to be fussed about. If you are fussy about storage, get the S2 and get a 32 or 64gb sd card. If 12gb is more than enough for you, then get the nexus.
That and the camera of the nexus is not as good, but don't think you will be disappointed, very good camera overall.

If you want premium software experience, Nexus all the way.
If storage and camera are very important to you, S2.
