Guild Wars 2

Newts, what's your character name? Never seem to see you around in guild chat, or if I do I just don't recognise you :p

Latex, every time I see you posting you're whining like a little girl. Don't you have any joy in your life?

I've never understood the term end game PVE, I'm level 74 and I've been enjoying PvE since level 1. Once I get to 80.....I'll still be exploring areas I haven't been to. What the hell is this end game PvE crap

I suppose when you've explored everywhere and done everything, seen every dynamic event, every conversation, crafted the best stuff for yourself, so the "single player/coop" side has nothing left to offer.

Without an expansion/dlc, all that remains is the repetitive world of pvp (or wvw) which is designed to last indefinitely.

Having said that, to see and do everything in PvE would take absolutely ages for the average player, so it wouldn't be much of a problem.

Do I really need maxed crafting to craft legendaries? For instance I can buy all the mats for exotic hammer mystic forge weapon.

So I don't really need to lvl crafting if I am not going to make money off it right? I've blown so much money on lvling crafting so far and still didn't break 150 (im lvl 80).

Immortals, talk to Wab

Wab kicked me on release day for joining very small guild of some old wow friends, so that's not really a option.

Edit: I just need something with a casual friendly atmosphere and obviously with players online. :p

Finally after 2 days of downloading at welsh village speeds I have the game installed and ready to go! Never played an MMO before - any one got any suggestions for a first time race / class? This better be worth the hype. Seems to be so far. Joined desolation because I saw it mentioned on here a few times. Gotta get the kids to sleep then away I go :)

Personal preference. The race is what ever you want to be. Though Asura are badass little balls of win and superior in every single way! :p no points for guessing what im playing :D

As long as you dont play a boring old plain lame human its fine :)

Anyone else trying to farm tiny scales etc? i rarely get anything.

Is that the first or second tier scale? Best place for the 2nd tier I've found is Gendarran Fields (one right above Lion's Arch) Just swim around in the lake killing Barracuda's and other fish. They respawn quick enough that you can literally just circle constantly. Best if you have someone else to do it with for speed.

Main is Asura although not really enjoying the personal storyline much, got all the other classes except Charr - not sure why but they just don't work for me at all.

Norn personal story is very nice though and if I'm honest they could delete "human" from the game and just have Norn in it's place, they move more human-like anyway and look far cooler (far fewer emos).

Pretty sure you need maxed relevant crafting professions.

Getting 400 in the right proffs will be absolutely trivial compared to some of the legendary requirements though. You need hundreds of gold and probably upwards of a million karma.

Yup farm the same place for em.

And to the guy about the crafting yes you need max level crafting.

Still get a lot of PM's/emails about the guild, yes we will still recruit from here, yes we are a casual guild, but we expect all players who join us to just be in our guild, if you want to get in and you ok with our extremely light rules, email [email protected] or [email protected], with a user name for our site (as we closed signups) and we will set you up a account, once that is done just drop a hi in the intro section and then send any guild officer (Dist, sengar, lainia, oberyn or nemeses) a /tell for a invite.

Yes we are very active most days have 60/70 online, we have planned dungeon runs (which tbh is not very well supported seems people for this game prefer doing it on the fly, but still with in the guild) we have a daily/nighty WvWvW run, (Each days BG listed in message of the day) que at 6pm UK time, and hopfully as many get in as possible. This not going very well for now but we will improve and get it working right!

each to his own I didn't like the voices of the asura found the race unplayable and the most difficult starter zones.

Playing your first mmo I suggest the Norn or Human just to get to grips with it.
