Cooling capacity of phobya 200 rad + 120 rad?

i have a phobya 200mm plus 120.2 swiftech cooling just the cpu and was wondering about cooling my 690 with it too. but due to the fact that the i7 920 is a hot beasty at 4.4 im not so sure. and all the guides refernce how many 120mm 'woth of rads' you need.

so im in the same boat :)

to be fair before this i had the i7 and a gtx 280 in the same loop with only the 240mm rad and it was fine, warmish but fine.
 
You should certainly be fine with a 200 + 240/120.2 for a 920 + 690 IMO. In monkeyspaz's situation he would be cutting it a lot finer as its 200 + 120 but could still be do-able. The 6x0 cards in the grand scheme of things don't generate a tremendous amount of heat.
 
Came across a couple of posts now with 1 person running 480's on a single phobya rad and someone else running 570's on one.

I should be fine then with two 670's and a CPU on a 120 - hopefully!! :)

I've got SLI 480's and with one under load, my 2x2.120 swiftech raDS cope ok, but kick in the second, and I find my fluid temp rises somewhat. That's with GT 1850's at full pelt.....

The way I understood it, the rads are not the problem, it's the fans. Ave some decent 200mm fans come to market in the past 12 months?

Surface areas wise, 1x200mm rad is 200x200mm = 40,000mm^2
1x3.120 rad is 43,200mm^2, so as long as the 360 you are comparing with is of a similar depth, then yes, the rads are similar. The real difference is the amount of air you can move through it to remove the heat. IF a decent 200mm fan exists that moves as much air as a GT1850, then you're fine. Otherwise.....stick with 120mm sized fans/rad combos.

CPU + GPU yes. Could you go SLI and CPU with this setup??

I just spied your setup.

2500k's are not particularly hot, nor are 670's. You should be able to cool your loop on a 200mm and a 120mm, but ideally you should be looking at 2.120 plus a 200mm with decent fans.
 
As for 200mm fans, if you can squeeze them on, then a 230mm Spectre PRO would probably be the best radiator option, comes with mounting holes for 180/200/230mm.
 
I cool a 2500k (@4.6 atm), and 2x 6950s (@6970 clocks and shaders) with a 120.2 and 140 (both EK with Vipers/Apache) so you should be fine.
My temps aren't exactly low (40 across all at idle) but I have all fans at 25% so that they're silent and the Vipers are on PWM which increases the speed at 70C on the CPU so it doesn't go over (this only occurs in long strenuous gaming sessions on GW2 and even then maybe for 1m every 30 mins, playing RIFT and CS:GO everything hits about 60C). GPUs top out at 65C and they're hot cards with extra shaders unlocked and then overclocked.
All in all for a silent build with reasonably heavy overclocks I'm happy enough with this set up and your proposed idea has more rad area and cooler GPUs. It's just whether you can get a good a 200mm fan as mentioned above.

230 fan will fit on the rad and looks like it's possible to fit!... won't know for sure until I have the case and rad.

Remember only one axis on the fan is physically 30mm taller/wider than the 200mm, the frame is trimmed on the other side so rotate it to fit ;)

Depending what case I decide on in the next week or so I might end up with a pair of Phobya 400's (200x2) to go with my 1080, will probably be using Mega Flow's on them though, no need for such high power fans with that much rad space :D
 
Is there much point in having a 230 rad if the opening is only designed for a smaller fan??
