Low cost insurance (with low cost 1st Month of payment and 9-10month direct debits)

Hi all,

Are there any decent insurance companies about that are cheap and offer low first monthly payment and 9-10 month direct debit payments?.

I am scouting about but just wanted to see if anyone knew of any about at the moment.

Going for the usual sites, so far Quotemehappy are showing the lowest, approx £433, works out £68ish 1st month payment and 10 monthly instalments of £36ish

Just wondering if there are any decent companies renound for their low costs and shorter monthly direct debit stints.

Huge is an understatement! I paid mine in full, if I took the monthly payments it would have worked out at almost double the pay in full price.
 
Only have 1 credit card and will only have 1 credit card (for my work fuel)

Me and credit cards do not get along, would rather it just come out my bank as a DD.
 
You'd rather throw money away?

You can set up a direct debit to pay off your credit card in equal amounts if you want...

It's not really a massive saving though is it? I certainly wouldnt call it throwing my money away, for the effort of signing up for a new card and for the risk of me re-using a credit card with my bad spending habbits

For example,

Quotemehappy my first quote

£442 one off payment

or

Monthly Installments - Overall total - £477

Thats a saving of £35 if I put it on a card, hardly worth it

See above ^^ is it really worth it based on the figure I just gave above

I know every little helps, but a total saving of £35 :\

If I found an insurance company that goes through a cashback website, I could probably make that back from a Cashback offer.
 
Maybe the fact that you don't seem to mind throwing money away is the reason you can't afford to pay it in full up front in the first place?

I could use a credit card, but I hardly see the point for a total saving of £35 when people are raving on about "ahh yeah put it all on a credit card, will save you loadsa wonga, you wont be throwing all your money away".

If it was a £100+ difference, then yes, I guess I could see your point, but for £35 really?

Short of it is, I have just paid off tons of debt because yes I was stupid with money, but I have learned my lesson

Can we keep on topic please, this isn't a thread about my past spending habits.
