How much is a fair price for some door job?

Hey guys

Need to call in a handyman to redo my door threshold a bit. Basically need to shift the black rubber toward inside by half an inch, so it goes completely under the bottom of the door.

The second thing is I want to install some sealing between the door and door frame to stop the draft. My neighbour used some paint brush type of filler that is effective and durable. I'm afraid the simple/cheap sponge strips wouldn't last long.

How much do you reckon that each would cost?

Any ideas on where I can buy the materials myself? Couldn't find any on B&Q....

All suggestions are welcome.

I just use the £5 (cheap) white stick on strips.. Just clean down the area first to remove all dust / debris and it should stay there for ages.

I did all the doors on our place last october, didn't have any draft after doing that.

-The final step was putting sellotape on the outside of the keyhole (for the door that leads to the upstairs balcony).

The guy we use is about £60 p/h. I wouldn't expected that to take much longer than an hour or two.

thanks!

The guy (hasn't come yet) said on phone that it probably needs a redo. I take new materials are needed. Di you use any new materials and pay for them?

Second thought - if I can find some black stick-on strips and do it properly aligned, I may be ok with it.
