For me - it's Nero because I like the coffee that they use and their panini are just *nom*. It's my local Saturday hang-out.

I'm a big coffee drinker and I like L'Or which you get from France. However, if I'm out in town for a coffee, then I have the choice of all 3 chain cafés as mentioned above plus all of the independent cafés. Just thought it would be interesting for us OcUKers to compair the main 3.

I prefer Costa to Starbucks really as well.

I like a Starbucks. Used to stop in regularly on a morning when working in Sheffield. I cant see a downside to them? They taste nice, and they arent overly priced similar to other services placed for convenience

Starbucks coffee is probably the worst of the three, with Nero being the best.

Used to work in Costa and the manager said that, and i tent to agree

I prefer Nero but there's only one very small one in the town center and its a nightmare to get a seat, so normally end up in Costa, as there's 3

Yeah I love the Milano! They do a mint choc version too. Favourite coffee would be either a straight espresso or an Americano, and you can specify how many espresso shots you can have in the Americano.

I can only think I experienced a bad Costa Coffee. The one I used to go to in Chester Le Street, Durham. Always tasted like bad filter coffee

Nero for me. There's a Costa and a Nero over in the terminal at work and we get a discount in both. I walk the extra 500 yards and take the escalator just so I can go to Nero. They have fitter staff too

It's fine to see what other members prefer but like I said I've never bought a coffee from a chain cafe.

I can make a coffee at home though, that's the problem. Same as why I don't buy bottled water, it comes out the tap. There is a Costa in Worthing, I'd like to say I'd buy a coffee from there but I just don't see the point. I enjoy my Nescafe

Only been to Starbucks and Costa and both were overpriced and tasted pretty rubbish. I'd say Starbucks was the better of the two, but not by much.

Got to be Cafe Nero. Not had any bad experiences with any chain. I don't know what it is but I just prefer the coffee and food at Nero. Plus it is a convenient stop on the larger bike rides I do!
