Guild Wars 2

Nor me, 200 hours played roughly, got 3 level 30 characters and 3 characters lower than that and FAR from bored :)

(the missus has way more than that played, she is nearing 300 hours played (same levels of characters though))

Me neither, haven't played anything except Black Mesa since starting GW2. It's a fantastic game if you're tired and don't want the stress of classic mmo-ing, it really is a game that you can make what you want out of.

I do feel The Secret World looking at me from the shelf, but only because I know my 3 month sub is running out :p

Yeh, I was always expecting to though, completed the game near enough to the point where all I have left to do are grinds that I don't find fun or rewarding, map completion, crafting, dungeons. I'd stay for the WvW if it wasn't so damn broken, hoping to be back fairly soon to get involved in some WvW but it clearly needs some time to mature.

must be sad to churn through mmo's without ever enjoying them just race to 80 then quit...

Like downing a beer I'd imagine...

Nope.

Couldn't go back to any existing MMO now as they are so outdated and poor in comparison. WoW will continue to offer better pve but from a looks, playability, engagement and fun perspective it's pushed the bar soooo far ahead it's unreal.

No sub as well is perfect as I can't play like I used to, still in the 40's with my Necro but already itching to try new classes :)

Hoping to hit Lv70 this evening, sat at about 58% world completion. Still enjoying every minute of it, and still lots to do and explore.

Really getting the itch to start an alt as well, but I'm trying not to until I finally hit Lv80 with my main!

After GW2 the one thing that I'll have trouble ever doing again is paying a sub for an mmo. It's just so liberating not feeling like the clock is ticking, that I have to log on and get my money's worth.

And given how much more of GW2 there is compared to recent mmo releases, it feels like other companies have a cheek charging money for stunted, unfinished releases.

Yeah what is up with WvW - I don't see the point in playing it if it doesn't run smooth. My fps drops right down into the 20's in big battles.

I would imagine that's because there is rather a lot going on during big battles?

True, but then comes back to my point - what's the point in playing it if it's so damn laggy? It completely ruins the fun.

It's not lag. If its because there is so much going on, your comp can't handle it. Turn down settings and see if its any better?

I meant fps lag. Changing the graphic settings doesn't seem to make much difference. Still a lot of optimization left to be done if you ask me.

So who's bored already and gone back to WoW/another MMO?

Around half the people I know who started playing GW2 are looking to return to WoW for the expansion next week.

They're ultimately fairly different - yet similar - games that have a common goal but as a complete package GW2 can't be compared yet. Not a surprise given how long WoW has been around.

One comment that seems to be very common is how refined the WoW engine feels compared to GW2 when people log back on WoW.

The entire game feels overwhelmingly like a zergfest which is terrible, and needs to be addressed. I'm not sure how though.

Obviously the F2P model is better as well but I have no issue paying for a quality product/service.

Handy thanks. Will see if I can look past the annoying colours.

Guys, I play a warrior for my main. I chose Jeweler and Cooking. Am I better to drop cooking for something like a weaponsmith for legendary items?
I would sooner stay as I am but there's a rumour the mats for legendary items are soulbound so you need to be both professions to craft said item.

Well I'm loving the game myself and so is my mate, I'm honestly going to have to have a good think about buying a mmo with sub after this. I'm lvl 65 with my ranger atm. I paid £32 for my copy and I feel I've easily had my moneys worth up to now. Still not bored though, Other than the annoying overflow I've had no issues. I can't see how a company can now come along and sell me a game for £30+ then ask for a sub every month if it's not something truly spectacular.

I'm feeling the same mate, really enjoying myself, taking the game at my own pace and having a lot of fun doing so. Crafting is fun too if insanely difficult to level - but just adds to the game.
