580 on a 620 psu ? will it be ok !

Thinking of getting a 580 3gb and wanted some reassurance if my psu is ok.

i know it's a low power psu and have seen people say it's ok but wanted to get some answers from here.
corsair hx 620 psu
pc spec is
i7 920 stock
rampage 3
1xssd
1x2tb hd
1x750 hybred hd (2.5")
fan controller
blu ray drive
akasa all in one front bay card reader
6 fans run from the fan controller

cpu will not be over clocked and play cod,wow,tf2 ect

well im using a 650 watt psu with a 690 and have no issues. i did some googling and a lot of people are saying/using similar psus with 580s.

the 12v rail for your psu is

18 x 3 = 54

the gpu needs 42 available for the whole system. so go for it ;)

+1 and you could overclock the CPU easily.

I'll be running a 7970 that is coming today and will be overclocking it till I can smell the silicon :D. That's on top of the OC and other dependants of my PSU in my rig in the signature. You'll be fine. I've already tested a GTX 670 with this system also. All fine.

In fact Rusty is using GTX 680s in SLI, with an overclocked 3770k at about 4.6-4.8Ghz (I think 4.7Ghz) as well as triple monitors and most likely a whole other bunch of things on a XFX 750 XXX PSU. He posted a 450Watt peak draw from a benchmark (using 99% of his GPUs I'd presume also).

(Edit, oh yeah I nearly forgot about James_2k who likes to live on the edge with every pop or noise coming from his computer giving him heart palpitations :D)
 
Yeah it's easily enough if it's a good 620W that can actually get close to its stated wattage (the HX620 falls into this category, even if it's a bit long in the tooth now).
 
My psu only has 2x6 pin connectors which is running my 570,the 580 uses more connectors but my psu does not have them,how would I connect the power to the psu ?
 
Just found out the 580 is a classified model and uses 2x8 pin and 1x6pin do it looks like m won't be able to handle it.

Bump,yes a 670 is better,had to sell the 580 as i couldn't find a block for it to watercool as the classified is sooo loud,got a gigabyte windforce (3 fans) and glad i made the change as it is so quiet,should have done his a while ago :)
