I dont know if youve seen that video yet but it made me laugh so hard

my response haha

original video

I dont think ill be upgrading to the iPhone 5 but will wait for the iPhone 6 next year!

I saw this the other day, I can't say I was particularly surprised as such, but it was still really funny to watch the chumps fawning over the exact same phone they had in their arse pockets.

That thing that got me so much was that man was saying this is thinner faster than my 4S and he was holding his 4S on his other hand! Priceless joke! :D

shows exactly what type of people own iPhones :)

You wouldn't get an Android crowd making that mistake.

I agree, that would be the type of person to buy iPhones, I also agree you wouldn't get an android crowd making the same mistake.

However, I believe the Android crowd wouldn't make the same mistake for different reasons, there are a lot of handsets that cover the "android crowd" for one, there's also likely to be more "geeky" people that are part of the "android crowd" who actually know what they're looking for in a new handset, and likely know well in advance what the handset they're interested in is supposed to be like.

Because of the hundreds of people they asked a few were dumb?

Oh I bet you some would. Do you really think all of the 400,000,000 people who own Android devices will be tech savvy enough to know the difference?

400,000? Hmm?

I don't think this would happen with "Android Users" simply because of how many android phones there are available.

These are people who seemingly know next to nothing about technology, but love Apple stuff, which is generally the type of person that makes up the general population of the Church of Apple.

Seriously back to the apple v android ?!

I have an iPhone4 and yes I do like apple stuff. But I have to say the iPhone5 is as far as I can see a stupid stupid upgrade to make.

I just do not see why the "general population" of either techies or non techies feel the need to have to pick sides.

You would if you picked people who looked pretty 'simple' and just bought one because it was cheaper than an iPhone. To suggest otherwise is laughable!

+1

I asked one guy I work with why he loves his iPhone so much and why he chooses it over the far superior cheaper Android alternatives, and he said something like - 'You can do so much with it, like call and text people. And it's got facetime'.

"Far superior" is very subjective. I just got rid of a S3 after only a month because I couldn't stand it/Android.

Indeed.

I think the point here is that yes, there are people who buy an iPhone because it's an iPhone and have no clue about the competition, but who cares, really. Only the Android fans seem to.

When I went to buy a fridge, I just bought the best Samsung one as it looked nice. I don't know anything about fridges, nor do I really care. Most people are like this with phones, and to an untrained eye, the iPhone is the top dog.

Even to a trained eye (which I consider my own to be), the iPhone is still excellent. Knowledgeable people may prefer it to the Android alternatives. The same goes for Windows Phone.

You are right it is subjective, but having owned both it's just my opinion. I still think the iPhone 4/4S is the best looking phone out there, I love the design and I even think the 5 in black looks awesome.

However, far too many people buy an iPhone just because its an iPhone and as the video above demonstrates, Apple could have simply renamed the 4S as the 5, and it would have sold out again. That is the stupidity that is being highlighted in the video, which is all too common in most of our day to day lives when we come across iPhone owners we all know.

Robbo - I don't think the fridge comparison is fair, since I doubt you would choose the best looking fridge if it cost twice the amount of everything else available, if you have 'no idea' as you say about fridges.

Only iPhone owners I know are people who got it because it was either the best phone/deal they could get at the time, or just want a phone they know is simple, powerful and will work out of the box without any hassle. That's why I like them anyway, and I can't wait for mine to come Friday.

I don't see how you can be stupid for buying a particular phone. Over-enthusiastic in some cases perhaps :p

Well, bearing in mind the people we're talking about would probably get it from a phone shop, or on a discounted network deal of some sort (where they charge £35/40 over 24 months for an S3 for example), it's probably not twice the price, especially for the 16GB model.

Not all iPhone owners, just a large % of them. We all know them, they were gonna buy the iPhone 5 no matter what...

When people complain about iPhone owners, it's the ones who act like this.

They buy the latest iPhone religiously simply because it's the latest iPhone and they must have it.

I think people complain about them because they then don't shut up about how *insert hyperbole marketing statement taken from the advert* the new iPhone is, and it will *insert life enhancing qualities* when they're talking about things that have been standard in other phones for quite some time now.

But people do that with Android too? How many people upgraded from an S2 to an S3 just because it was new, and didn't actually need any of the new features?

I know a lot of folks with iPhones, they are common as muck nowadays, and none of them are up their own arse about it. They just see it as another phone.

Oh, well we all know people like that. :p
