Extension encroachment - any surveyors / builders / property people on? (pics)

Sounds like you do need get an independent BRO in to have a look and note the parts that don't comply, then you can go to the council with a professional appraisal and move on from there. If the council's own BRO has passed it so far then you're going to need some clout to get them to look again i guess.

Have you managed to actually speak to the builder yet and ask what the hell he thinks he's doing?

Spoke to the council, apparently a building regulations officer has visited at some point and given it the thumbs up. What's wrong with these people!

All the building regs people do is check it meets building regs.

You should contact the planning department and ask for an enforcement officer to make a visit and check the building meets the plans that were submitted for approval.

They're like any council run department though. They're only there to pick up the pay cheque and pension. You'll probably have to push the issue via solicitor.

No extension should build right up to the boundary without consent, let alone over it for this very reason. Normally you build from you side of the party wall.

I get this feeling this is the case so we are going to seek a court order to halt any further building until agreement reached.

Building regulations officer probably hasn't even been involved with the build, looking at your photo's.

I do hope authorities makes them pull it down. too many oiks, think they can ignore building regulations, boundary's, etc.

Also I noticed their boiler flue, is rather close to the fascia, guttering, I can see that melting.

Pictures 6 & 7; Shoddy felt work, can see water getting in to your place.

Any problems with main sewage drains?
