Scratched a bit of the black paint on 5d3

Hi all, my black rapid strap scratched a bit of the painting off of the bottom of my 5d3 where u screw it on and was wondering if there his a way to paint it or somehow repair it again?

It got scratched when it's connected to my camera and inside my bag.

Man up and live with it... First battlescar is always the hardest... My 1d3 is well scuffed now.
(and if it bothers you try a bit of permanent marker to start with.. Hides a multitude of sins)

I put a small scratch on the top LCD of mine.

You soon realise that ultimately its a tool to take photos and provided its not impaired doing that, what does it matter?

It only matters to the re-sale value and I'm sure you aren't looking to sell it for the next 3 years so don't worry.

Touch up paint from Halfords or Black Satin Finish Hammerite if you're really worried about appearance.

Stick some black gaffer tape over the area that got scratched to protect it in future.

Thing is - these things are tools - they're going to get scratched and damaged. It lost quite a bit of value the moment you took it out of its box and will never again be worth what you paid for it.

Yes it would matter to me. It would send my OCD off the scale. I would need to add a few more scratches so it was not 'nearly' in perfect condition, then I could relax and not worry about it.

I hope you don't find a stone chip on your car! Lol

I just stop worry about it from day 1. It's a tool, it's not one of a kind, it works just as well as before and it is covered by insurance.

Then again, 4 months on both of mine are still mint

. hell, even the mkiii that I sold was mint bar the LCD and that was 3 years old. The 30D I sold earlier in the year was as new!

The lens hoods however are all scuffed on the outside lol. Well, rather the hood than the lens! Which are mint and hoods can be replaced.

Another vote for permanent marker. Wouldn't really worry too much about though, as others have said, it's a tool and they get a bit beat up from time to time.

Rubber grip on my D90 got ripped off the other day and is now lost - instead I have a yucky stick recess for a grip. Must mean I can buy a D800 right?

If it was my camera i'd feel proper bad (another OCD victim here) I get up set about finger prints on my screen protector lol

I wouldn't care. I just found a screen protector that ******* shipped with my camera free. I can see why you'd need them compared to the 30D and 60D as the camera actually rests on the screen if you put it down on the back.

Still, it's nothing compared to the scratch on my iphone. Which ironically I got when I was wiping dirt off the screen so it didn't get scratched

Really don't worry about it, your going to scratch it, and it's going to get marks it's called wear and tear.

If its on the bottom of the camera, why care? I wouldn't even say that would affect second hand prices as who the hell looks at the bottom of a camera anyway? Its bound to get scuffs and scratches on the bottom of it, just like laptops do.

Its a tool, it job is to take pictures and as long as it does that reliably and well, what's to worry about ?
