Z77 G1 Sniper M or Asus Z77 Maximus V Gene??

I have the Z77 G1 Sniper M and its fantastic and at a great price as well... stable when overclocking as well.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I am currently looking at these boards as an option. I am leaning towards the M3 for the headphone amp, as I will be ditching my PCI-based Xonar DG if I do buy one of these boards.

If the audio quality is good on the M3, I see it being the better option as I won't be leveraging the overclocking potential of the MVG. But I am worried the audio quality won't live up to a Xonar DG, and I will end up stuck with an inferior board and paying for a Xonar STX anyway. I know the DG is available in PCIe, but if I am buying a new card it will be a real upgrade. If I can get the same quality audio I currently have bundled with the mobo, then it's a double-win.

Stelly: have you had any experience with the Xonar range, and if so how does the M3 onboard compare? Or do you currently have a discrete sound card?

The Sniper M3 has a creative sound chip with amps, theres a great review here - http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?282700-GIGABYTE-G1.Sniper-M3-Review

Gene clocks better !!!!!

Yeah I know its a Core-based sound chip, supposedly software, but It'll beat the Xonar for taking for sure. I'm just not sure how well it will compare for music. I'm strangely drawn to the board, and halfway through this review I'm liking what I'm reading, especially the complete lack of 3rd party components. Zero bloat is definitely a good thing.

Will probably order myself one at the end of the month, will post some feedback then.

Please do, maybe even a review? would be good to see:)

Stumped for a Z77X-UD5H on Friday, so no review incoming I'm afraid. Ended up buying a Fiio E17 and the onboard wouldn't have done it justice. Dolby Headphone over SPDIF into the E17 is rockin'!
