Whats a good place to buy good office furniture?

I have had a look in Argos and Ikea but cant really find anything I like all looks a bit cheapy.

You should look around office clearance places, there was a place called office clearance warehouse that was relatively cheap when I was looking for a desk. They gut old offices and have some serious bargains at times - also deliver nationwide I think, which they did free for me all the way down to Cornwall!

Ikea is another? Just do a Google search mate.

I think Zefan suggests Ikea. As do I.

Nooo! I was just showing Tony Williams how Ikea has already been mentioned! Ikea is ok, but by no means good value really and a bit... dull!

Get some proper office desk action in your life :p

I just sold an accountancy practice and all my furniture went on the BAY.

Absolute bargains for office furniture.

I sold the chairs for £20 a piece and the huge desks for £40. Someone had a bargain!

IIRC there's a big office furniture place opposite the Argos in Great Ancoats, Manchester.

Try looking for a shop locally which sells 2nd hand furniture. I bought my furniture from one and got of the Herman Miller Aeron chair for like £325 from there which is like £800 brand new, one was mint and other had very slight marks which you could barely tell. He usually picks up furniture from offices which have closed down so he gets them cheap anyway.

Any new stuff is much of a muchness, all use the same finishes and construction methods at the lower price bracket. You should go to Ikea and have a look in person at what it's like. I bought a desk there the other day and it's decent. I guess though Ikea is wooden frame whereas furniture companies will offer metal framed desks and modular designs.

We use Floyds who have some used furniture as well as new stuff. They're Surrey-based and resellers for some furniture manufacturer (forget the name). If they're not in your area they'll probably give you details of the local reseller.

Buying a decent frame where you can replace the top is quite a decent idea if you're after long term solutions as refurbishment costs in the future will be lower.
