Download 2012 - Lineup

Trivium are pants, they're not even metal.
Why see Biffy when Skindred were playing at the same time? Annoyingly the Encore stage was too quiet so we could hear Biffy all over them
Metallica were sloppy, but they're old and we expected that.
Tenacious D seemed short.
I thought the organisation was spot on, we were diverted away from the bad traffic and got on the A50 then M1 in no time, there wasn't a moment where we were sat in queues. The police this year have been top notch too with some good banter and smiles all round.

Definitely going again.

Really enjoyed Trivium, Fozzy, Halestorm, Machinehead, Lamb of God and Soundgarden. Metallica were immense as usual and the Black album is played in reverse so Sandman isn't played right at the start of the set.
Tenacious D were **** as usual and Biffy whilst good have 0 crowd interaction.

Biggest complaint was the organisation and the arena area. The place was not setup to have 100K people there, insufficient toilets being a good example, and you struggled to move anywhere. They couldn't have put the shuttle buses and other areas further from the arena if they'd tried.

Sonisphere was significantly better organised and laid out and I think Download need to take away some serious lessons from this year.

What an awesome 3 days! We only saw Slash on the Friday due to the weather but saw Saxon, Tenacious D and Metallica on Saturday.

Sunday was the big one though. Awesome bands from 2pm until 11pm! Sabbath were fantastic as were all the other bands on the Sunday. Pity Anthrax only had half an hour to play - they deserved much more time.

The only thing I think was unorganised was getting everyone out of the car parks at the end. Other than that they did need more toilets but it went quite smoothly considering the bad weather.

My dad went with my uncle and said it was great. My dad gave me a call today to tell me all about it and I had to hang upon him after a while, he's still pished :p

Just got back! My GF and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. As mentioned above, the 'Marshalls' need to be more directive in their approach. I got lost a couple of times getting back to the Yellow Camp as the directions were wrong!

Enjoyed all the music and atmosphere (apart from people asking if I had 'MDMA' or 'Weed'). The campsites should have been corded off, as I felt bad for some people as their tents were about 1-foot deep in slurry!

I will go next year if it's better organised (and less people shouting bloody 'FENTON' and 'Buttscratcher!'.

You've obviously not been before, thats just how it works.

Just got back, i survived but only just.
Corey Taylor and Tenacious D where the biggest highlights for me though Steel Panther brought out the boobs which always helps.

Lol, was in yellow camp and the Fenton/Buttscratcher did get old quickly.

Search "DOWN10AD Boobies Montage" on youtube ;)

Steel panther were awesome for the bewbs! :D

But Metallica.. Oh my god, I was literally near the front. I can see myself on the download facebook picture with Rob and Kirk on the pathway, the heat and pushing was so intense but to get so close to Metallica was so so worth it!

Sabbath stole the show, but great performances from most of the bands.
Wish I went to see slash instead of prodigy, and I wish megadeath and firewind, biffy and skindred didn't clash. But all in all I saw most of the bands I wanted too, got incredibly drunk, and got a lot of awesome memories.

What a weekend!

For me Lamb of God and Machine Head were my favourites, but that might be down to the fact that I was right in the front and throwing myself in the huge pits :D

Emmure were pretty damn brutal as were August Burns Red. Soundgarden and Sabbath were class. I think I finally feel human again and no longer smell of pee and ****.

Hope its Rammstein as don't like Maiden and Slipknot were poor when I saw them at Sonisphere a couple of years ago.

How so?

I'm far from a huge fan of Slipknot but I was blown away by their performance at Sonisphere 2011, it amazes me how they (or corey if you will...) can control a crowd, there are so few bands that can manage that as well as Slipknot can.

I've never seen Rammstein live but I've heard they are absolutely phenomenal :D

Edit: So it looks like the 10am announcement today is going to be Rammstein as they have reportedly posted it on the bands Facebook page, it has been removed but you can find screenshots all over the net if you have a look :)

I just don't think they work that well live, don't know if its anything specific, and its been the same every time I've seen them.

Rammstein are utterly brilliant live.

Fair enough, I can't argue with that :)

I think i'll be picking up tickets when they go back on sale if Rammstein are confirmed, which lets face it, they will be
