24" too big to sit 80 cm away from?

Im getting a new monitor, my current is a 22" and i sit about 80cm away from it. Is a 24" too big? Do any of you use that size or bigger? Does it really give much more when playing games over a small screen?

Too small if anything. I'm 23" and sit about 2' away.

24" is a nice size for gaming, i use a 27" and would have even bigger if funds alowed

I sit around 70-80cm from my 24" and 100-110cm from the 30".

I think you will be fine!

About 60cm from my 27", perfect distance and not too big

Agree, 24" is a real nice size to game on and like Old Gamer, im using a 27" at the moment. Takes some getting used to.

Are you "upgrading" from 16:10 to 16:9? I ask because a 16:9 24" is exactly the same height and simply gives a bit more width.

I had never thought about that. Now I'm dissapointed I have a 23" Dell 16:9 arriving today to replace a 22" 16:10

I'd have gone for the 16:10 but I didn't want to further stress the graphics card in games plus it would stretch the image in PS3/Xbox games..

Used to be about 2 feet away from my 27 and that felt right for gaming.

Now about 3 feet + and it feels miles away... Thinking of getting 32 inch tele...
