Unfortunately that isnt possible, the west depends on theese countries for assets such as oil and gas. Hence why western nations prop up repressive regimes in theese countries. And tbh, we actually might have been better off with the old guard in the likes of libya/egypt, better with the devil you know kinda thing.

These people are are literally not part of our global society as their numbers are so small. Don't forget, good Muslims don't sell papers.

The BBC's Aleem Maqbool in Islamabad says some protesters have said they will not leave the diplomatic enclave until the US embassy is on fire.

Unfortunately I'm starting to feel this way more and more as the years go by. The middle east countries seems be happy living in a pile of rubbish and dust. They actively choose to live in 3rd world conditions.

Case in point, i was watching a program on the BBC called Exploring China: A Culinary Adventure, and in the 3rd episode they went to the western border. Where there were large Muslim settlements. The City they were living in was basically divided in two, on one side was the Chinese living in clean neighborhoods in modern housing and generally looked like any western city. And right next door was the Muslim people, it basically look like Afghanistan after a decade of heavy bombing. Piles of rubble and bricks everywhere and everything falling apart. Hygiene was an alien concept as well.

They're basically living about 2000 years behind the rest of the world and that's the reason they attack everything. It's because they feel threatened by modern people and modern thinking.

Anyone thinking these protests have anything to do with a film are naive IMO, the Muslims are just using this as yet another excuse to attack the west

Well it seems the way to deal with muslim extremeists is very simple then. Employ silly christians to make silly videos to make silly muslims get so worked up they kill one another protesting.

Why didn't we think of this before?

I've not read much about this, but presumably this is the usual suspects of angry extreme muslims who are kicking off, whilst the rest of the muslim population sit there feeling embarrased that these people are acting on their behalf?

Or are all muslims outraged in a daily mailesque mob?

The two positions are:

1) To stop a religion of being mocked you need to restrict freedom of expression. Our laws already detail this quite strictly I would add bar in colleges and universities and the press under certain conditions. The US naturally has freedom of speech as part of its governing philosophy.
2) By allowing a religion to be insulted etc (lets presume Islam) does not freedom of religion. But that is not the argument is it. People are not saying it is stopping them being Muslims they are saying it is insulting its core.

To be honest when ever the discussion of "we can't or do XYZ as it would "annoy" the Muslims or any other group that likes to range against something they don't like I think of that South Park "200 & 201".

As a side note I find flag burning quite offensive but I would never riot/kill against a people/organisation/country with a tedious link to the flag burners.
 
I dont get it, why destroy your own home town because of something somebody nobody really likes or knows anyway did thousands of miles away :confused:

What is there to get? Was there anything to get during last years riots here in the UK? supposedly sparked by the death of some random person 99% of the rioters did not know?

Stupid people will do stupid things.

That said, I don't recall seeing any of the London rioters thrashing a blasing car with a wooden stick though! That deserves a merit badge!
