Do you like clubbing?

Nothing worse than UK clubbing. I dont care about the name , dont care if its the ministry of your mom, the atmosphere in UK clubs blows.

Best clubbing Ive ever done was in Denver in the USA. What an amazing vibe. And of course in Europe.

UK fail and nothing will change my view. Not that Ive bothered to throw my money at any UK dump for the last 15 yrs!!!
 
Whilst I appreciate where some are coming from flibbage it's best to just be yourself. I tried to force myself to go clubbing when I arrived at Uni but I just ended up hating it anyway. It's really not for everyone, so just be yourself.
 
Went fairly often at uni, but not to what I'd consider real clubs. Loved it when I was 18-20, but only to particular events - Synergy, Planet Angel etc, down in London, where everyone's just ridiculously friendly and nice to each other. Had one night where I went to a Faithless gig, then straight on to Synergy til 6am, then an after party at another venue til the next afternoon. That took quite a bit of recovery time.

Edit/ I'm much more about raves and free parties, nothing like listening to music you can't even pick a genre for in a shed next to a barn at 8am :p
 
I went to the freshers one a couple of nights ago.
I didn't like the music or the ****, but I really liked being around my room-mates and managed to make new friends.
It was fun and it's nice to not live with people you think as strangers rather than friends.

None of my friends act like that. You just mix in a crap social circle. Get some new mature friends and stop being such a party pooper, though you do come across as someone who just does not like socialising.

I went clubbing for the first time about a month ago, it was pretty awesome. Although apparently it was more of a rave than a club (underground multi-room/level place in Birmingham, 11-7 DnB and Dubstep). Didn't know there was a difference tbh.

Also I have no idea how people manage to get properly drunk and go clubbing, dancing around like a **** with a belly full of spirits is not a good combo!!!

if you're talking "clubbing" in the true sense, haven't been into it for years. Do I like goin got the odd club occasionally? Yeah, but high prices, average music, and the inability to hear anyone speak now grate on my nerves somewhat.

Still love dancing though!
 
Cheesy clubbing (Oceana, et al): I would rather have my fingernails pulled off.

Proper clubbing: Not as much as I used to just owing to the ever increasing costs and me reprioritising how I spend my money, and I have been clubbing for 15 years now. Still love proper dance music though.

Agreed - I stopped clubbing (in the UK) about 15 years ago. It was on a steady decline from 1995 onwards. I'm not sure what makes it so bad in the UK - as the music is still reasonably good & cutting edge. It just lost it's sparkle (most likely due to the above average amount of people that are so hammered they either can't stand up, don't have any manners - or just generally want to fight with anything that gets in their way) - and the fact that more than 50% of the women in British clubs these days are overweight :eek: - yet think they can pull off wearing a skimpy top with their belly hanging out. 20 years ago nearly all of the ladies in a club were fun - could actually smile at you, they were usually slim and knew how to dress.

I went Raving / clubbing almost every week from 1989 right through to 1993 and have some great memories of how it used to be.

And funnily enough - those sorts of club atmospheres can still be had in many parts of Europe / Australia and America - in fact they are the norm in most other countries apart from the UK (which is a bit strange considering we virtually invented raving and clubbing) :rolleyes:

"Proper" clubs were fine even at the start of the 2000s, things have steadily gone downhill since pop music got more dancey and more and more people who don't actually love dance music started going clubbing as it was just the done thing. :(

I have plenty of awesome memories from Godskitchen, Passion, Heaven, SeOne and Turnmills from 2002-2005.
 
I despise dancing (although I can totally see how others enjoy it) so clubs are generally not my thing as you can't really do anything else properly in a club.

I used to go clubbing a lot when I was younger, as said above the company in the places started to go down hill more than the clubs so I moved away from that.

No I just like a few pints with good friends sat at a table I a pub or beer garden, am I just old now is that what it is :D
 
Do not appreciate any kind of clubbing, very loud music that messes up hearing and gives you a headache. Drunken sweaty people in a crowded hot place with either chavvy girls in crap clubs to snobby girls in "posh" ones and don't start me on other fellas, it's an ****** push fest sometimes. Horrible experience, the only time I could tolerate such silly activity is when I was 18 and extremely drunk (which I believe is the formula for night clubs for any sane person).

Much rather prefer having a pint in a nice quiet relaxed pub with friends.
 
Everyone who doesn't like clubbing keeps adding "with friends" to their preferred alternative, did none of you go clubbing with your friends or something? :p

Even I would hate going to non-cheesy clubs on my own, usually there are around 8-10 of us and it always good fun, and there are plenty of chill areas where the music is quieter where you can chat.
 
I've never liked it, prefer a social drink at the Pub where i can hear myself think and other people talk.

I went with friends yes but it's hardly the place for social interaction when you have to yell at each other to be heard.
 
Always prefered the trance parties in london to actual clubs. Hated the whole ben sherman shirt and crappy comercial music. In those trance parties the mix of people was the best thing along with the lack of larger louts. Music was very good too.
