Guild Wars 2

Looks like it would make playing on a 360 pad very easy and enjoyable. I'm going to give this a while till theres official response that this is allowed (as I can see this giving "unfair advantage" which ANET have said is not allowed, but its a grey area).

Being playing since Thursday, only got to lvl 5 but nearly lvl 10 pvp rank. Obviously I am finding that rather good fun, although only type of BG a bit boring. Still lots of different maps and no Hutball!! :p

Balance is always debatable. Mesers and thieves seem way OP. I tried an ele and just got owned. Not so much a glass canon as just plan glass. Died all the time in PvE too. Gave up after a while and tried a ranger which seems a much stronger class.

Still the way it set up you can switch PvP chars easily. So you can’t complain to much about other class, just roll one yourself.

Still find it odd no ones defends a position in PvP. It’s just on zerg between bases. Doesn’t seem the best strategy to me.

I kinda agree. In fact a lot of the time I reckon it could be more of an annoyance/hindrance than help, but I think it will depend very much on the class. Not sure how good/useful it would be for my Mesmer or Ele.

I think this would be great for my mesmer, being able to just aim at an enemy with my cursor and set my clones/phantasms on them? Brilliant.

When fighting multiple enemies assigning clones/phantasms effectively is paramount, you don't want to be putting a phantasm onto an enemy that has low health if there is another enemy with more health, as that phantasm will dissipate when the mob dies, etc. Lots of different reasons in a fight to throw your clones on different targets.

Much easier with this to put abilities on different targets than using the current targetting system, tabbing and clicking etc.

1.5mil? where do you spend that? is that for all top tier gear? if there are 7 items of gear .. helmet, gloves, chest, boots, legs, shoulders, weapon ... and they are 45k each, youre looking at 315,000 ish?

edit: actually thats not legendary. how do you get legendary?

Only just seen this. I'll give you a brief run down, but the link below will give you a full list. Basically, the karma is for Obsidian Shards, which you need to make Mystic Clover (Mats - 10 Shards, 10 Mystic Coins, 10 Ectoplasms and 10 Arcane Crystals (3 Skill points per 5)), You have a chance of getting 10 Mystic Clover or 20-50 of any of the T6 mats. You also need 250 Obsidian Shards for one of the gifts required for your legendary. So that's 525k right there plus with how random the clovers are, you could be talking up to 2mil if you got very unlucky, but it's pretty unlikely.

There's a huge amount more involved, if you are considering it though, do karma first, as you need 250 of each T6 mat, which you will most likely get by trying to get your mystic clovers.

There's the guide with all the info, read it and weep. Quite literally :p

I think that boss is not unbalanced, it's just people don't know how to kill it properly.

It's a big zone boss, you need a large number of people to properly take in on, 1 or 2 groups of people will of course be hard. Also whenever I've gone against the boss I've seen people just running in and standing still while attacking and just getting owned by the AE, and people dead waiting for a rez instead of just running back.

Well it was killing me in 2 hits, and is by far the hardest boss I've faced (harder even than nearly all of the dungeon bosses)

...and it's in a starter area.

So that suggests to me it's not balanced.

I came across that boss one time while questing in the zone, saw the whole area littered with "Downed Player" icons and thought, naaaaaa :p.

Heard the encounter is broken at the moment, I've completed it 5 times so far (takes up to an hour each time) and still not received any credit. You can survive fairly well if you keep moving and evading, gather the ice bow whenever it pops and shoot like crazy, but hardly anyone bothers with the ice bow or they waste it. Worst of all though is people gathering on the bridge hoping to steal credit, just turns it into a death trap for anyone running back.

Doesn't help that it pops directly from a chain of events and insta-kills everyone in the room, people are too busy mucking about to listen to my pleading to leave the room! :D

What's the PvE content like at 80? I really have no interest PvPing. Is there enough PvE stuff, i.e. dungeons etc to never have to PvP or am i going to find myself very bored repeating the same thing?
