Lode Runner, and yes! Was an epic game, I spent ages fiddling just so I could play it again on Win7 (Legend Returns version). Multiplayer and building your own maps is the way forwards.
My friend and I would make a map that was all bombs where you had to run to get a key that would let you teleport into a safe room... or else be incinerated!

I never did work out what they were doing to the car on the bottom, or why it had to take up half the screen the entire time.
