Hi All

I had this years ago and can't remember what the cause/fix was

I've installed the card and drivers and now when I go to shut the PC down it hangs on the shutting down screen and does nothing?

Thought this would have been fixed by now, anyone seen this or know what the fix could be?

Many thanks

Mart

Are you using Creative's own drivers?

If so, search for Daniel K Audigy 2 drivers. Try them, see if they can solve the problem. Creative are rubbish when it comes to drivers, especially their older cards.

I had this after installing something recently. I found that windows update had attempted to get some updates for the .net framework which simply would not install and would hang and hang. A reinstall of windows and these updates never appeared again :S. Maybe your soundcard software uses this part of .net framework and is stuck on those too?

I use to have a Creative Audigy 2 and also had the exact same problem.

I never knew it was the soundcard. I just put up with it. lol

Windows is shutting down.... wait a few seconds..... power switch. :D

Re-install of windows? that will be the last thing I'd do :D

So annoying I'm going to try the modded drivers mentioned above :)

Thanks all

i loved my audigy 2 card, but i also found a bug - that may be related, the cause was due to me having in excess of 4Gb Ram, the creative fix was to reduce my ram to 4gb. unsuprisngly, i went and got a new card!

how odd. i had an audigy2, 8GB ram and windows 7 and it worked perfectly with bog standard creative drivers.

only issue i had was with the sound quality when vista first came out and it took them ages to sort it but that was 5 odd years ago. :p
