Anyone else noticing this trend? Maybe it's just me but I have seen (and removed) at least 4 in the last week.

I am not particulary fond of them although I must admit, I feel rather guilty when I "dispose" of them or put them outside for a better description.

Now, apparently these Spiders are adapted to live indoors and putting them outside means certain death as they can not tolerate adverse weather and temperatures.

However, here's an interesting thought. For all I know, I may have in fact been removing outdoor Spiders that have found their way into the house as they seek the warmth.

Edit: Yet another pointless Spider thread and due to the blast radius and current Social Affairs, nuking them was not an option.

As a woman living on my own, God bless having trained my kittens to eat them. I either point to them if they're in the same room when I spot them, or call them in, and they scoff.

Makes my life a whole lot less scary. :D

Moving inside as the temps are dropping outside, as long as they're nowhere near my bed, I leave them be for a few days and see if they move off :)

It happens every year, the mature males are moulting out and seeking females, which is why every Autumn you find them wandering around all over the place.

The only problem with house spiders is they're damn late. They should be a month or two earlier and catch those ****** moths which keep trying to get into my room to attack the lights!

I'm always tempted to catch them and feed them to my gecko but you never know what chemicals or parasites they might have. i hate spider September!

Whilst we are on the subject of Spiders, I was having a conversation with a work colleague (as you do at lunchtime) discussing what we think is the world's deadliest/venemous Spider.

He thinks it's the "Southern Black Widow" and I think it's the "Brazillian Wandering Spider". Believe this is nicknamed the Bananna Spider.

It's not the black widow. Whilst they have a nasty bite, most people survive as long as they get the anti-venom in time. Most black widow fatalities come when younger kids/babies get bitten due to having insufficient immune system.
