This is a getting beyond a fkn joke .....first of all the keyboard lights wont hold their setting, then I problems with the hdmi (granted that was the tv)....but now this. I'm typing on my desktop as the keyboard on the laptop's going buggered!

When I type words, some letters dont go on screen, and I know I'm hitting them....then a lot of time the cursor dissapears, and/or the space bar, enter button ect ect doesnt work.....ffs what's wrong with Alienware/Dell laptops....it's really ****ing me off

The moral here being......Don't buy from Dell :)

I know that now....pieces of expensive ****e....fact!

 He didn't.

@Ian did you reinstall the command centre for the light fx? Have you checked to see if the ribbon for the keyboard is fully inserted/loose or whatever?

Yes, made dam all diffirence......I'm not touching/opening it while it's under warranty, I'll phone Dick Turpin tomorrow

The thing is...my desktop's got a 6-7 year old Microsft keyboard and has worked they way it's meant to from the day 1

Same with my mouse - an MS inteli that's about 10-12 years...and again no trouble from day 1

So there's deffinately problems (and quite a few!!) with Dell...fact!

I'll NEVER buy this make again

Are you using an isolated incident to make the claims that loads of Dell laptops have quality issues?

Incidents....not incident

I know they're not all bad and things have thier flaws, i guess after paying a lot of money for it i expected a bloody good system and so far i'm just not getting it and VERY dissapointed in it

So if I buy Dell from PC World, it's not Dell?

Lol. The original post was "Dont buy from Dell" im not disputing that it's a tree.

He didnt buy it *new* from dell or any other retailer its 2nd hand/previously enjoyed or what ever you want to call it.

Its like saying dont buy a Ford because my mate bought a 2nd hand one and the wurly gig stopped working. For all my mate knows the previous owner could have spilt cake on it and broke it ergo its not Fords fault.

Im not saying that the previous owner has done anything to the laptop, but i dont think blanket statements of "dont buy from Dell" are fair when the history of the laptop is unknown.

Yes im happy with mine and my previous Dell laptops. :p i hope ian gets his sorted out.

The OP seems to be going on about trivial issues like it's the end of the world so could be more to it than just the trivial issues?

Is it because you regret buying the laptop even without the trivial issues like if it was fully working?

That's exactly what I meant by:

Str.....did I say it was the end of the world...no

I said I was ****ed off with it and wont by the make again

Yes, because of an isolated incident. In the real world, if you stuck to that "logic" you'd very quickly run out of brands to buy because everyone knows some one who's had problems with some brand or another.

I know and you're right, I've had chance to calm down and nearly get to the bottom of it :o
