Just thought I'd give people a heads up on this after seeing the Wheeler Dealer/Good Car Shows thread. I'll be honest, I've never seen it but it does seem very similar to Wheeler Dealer. They're fixing up an old E Type tonight. Could be worth a punt, plus there's nowt else on.

That wan't bad, some over dramatisation but pretty good, could have spent more time on the rebuild.

My mechanic had the Yank in his garage from the last series of Wheeler Dealers and said it was a crock of crap the guy spent a couple of K just getting it right.

I enjoyed it. You're right, there was some dramatisation (the Cockney guy does some other show where he's equally dramatic).

I loved the E-Type, shame about the sunroof and auto box but it's still beautiful. It would have been good to see a longer show too, perhaps over a couple of weeks detailing the restoration. I like that the show gave you some basic explanation of mechanical parts too. Anyway, looking forward to the next episode.......which is a 911

It wasn't really like wheeler dealers at all. They didn't show how to go about doing things which is something Ed China always shows. :)

Overall I enjoyed it but yeah some over dramatic parts (freshly painted e type shell crashing into to the engine in the garage seemed a bit put on...for some reason). Seemed to be more arguing then a whole part missing before showing it finished. Wait and see what the next episode is like I suppose. :o

I watched this & didn't even bother to ring up the competition to win the E type as I thought it was so ****.
Nasty tacky rush job done by spanner men.

I felt the same way, and I really cannot stand Bernie either.
Was looking forward to watching a series I hadn't seen yet, roll on new Top Gear!

I'll have to watch this. Everyone is telling me it was dross though - an automatic version with a sunroof? Jog on. Sounds like they got pulled on the price too.

They really should have done away with that sunroof.
LHD, auto and a none original sunroof valued at 30k some one was on the crack that day!

The car look good but the show did nothing to affirm the car was anything other than a bodge.

The show has potential but they have to do away with the scripted arguing and buying junkyard parts from backroad merchants!

The worst part was that they paid over the odds for that e type (£12k) when they could have got the first one they looked at which appeared to have far better body work and a nicer car in general for only £2k more. Instead tons of filler seemed to be used. :(

i thought it was a decent programme,it was heavily edited down though making it seem they did a bodge/rush job

the bodywork was good

Its an entertainment show at the end of the day. We can't expect too much from it, plus it's better than X Factor.

I saw An MG Is Born.....great show, same about the colour though!

Jesus is anyone watching this? I've seen better scrapped! How can they spend £500 on a rubber bumper piece of crap like that and expect to turn over profit
