hit the puddles as fast as you can, chances are you'll sail across easily...
Should have bought a John Deer instead of that Audi!
I am in South Yorkshire at work and we haven't seen a drop of rain all day, it's crazy to think this is "just up the road".
Are you sure there are just these 3 ways home? Are there no detours you can take?
Is route 1 the A1?
I was meant to travel to York today (from Bishop Auckland) and turned back home when I got to loads of local roads which were closed here.
If thats the A1 then im chuffin glad I did not try and find a way around.
Oh and I just told my boss I wasn't going. She didnt seem to mind, nor the four people I was meant to be training today.

The Wear has here, so im pretty sure the Ouse will have.
Drive home should be fun. (York to Northallerton) - hasn't stopped raining all day. I wonder if the Ouse has burst its banks yet. Seems like the Wiske has, and Cod Beck had when I came in. Stupid bloody weather.
I think the A19 will still be open, but no doubt they've sent everyone down the A59/A64 from the A1, round the York ring road and up the A19. And it has roadworks on it (Traffic lights) which have half a mile queue on a good day. Brilliant.
Where exactly were your photos taken, if you don't mind me asking? They look like familiar bits of road (2/3rd pictures) but I can't quite place it.
Ouse normally floods a day after rain, but it was looking preeeeetty close to the limit at 8:30am when I drove over it earlier.
Been advised by Environment Agency to keep checking local news...great help!
