Asda announce fuel cap

I remember thinking it was bad the first time it went through £1 a litre. Then it came back down under a quid. Sadly that will not happen again. I hate seeing the price rise quicker than the fuel amount as you are pumping it in :D

The government should make it so that every petrol station has to charge the same amount imo,They are getting too greedy and im sure some of their pumps are rigged so your not getting all your moneys worth.

The Office of Fair Trading did an investigation recently to look in to that. It turns out most are spot on, with some actually giving out more than they should.

Edit: Trading Standards, not the OFT. Are they the same thing?

This would require a world oil price of approximately double the current price, so $220. To reach these levels without wholesale demand destruction in the near term seems unlikely.

No, it would just require the majority of the cost of fuel ie. tax, to increase further; which with the track record of our government is inevitable. Or the idiots at the bank of England crippling our currency further.

I find that hard to believe really.

Pretty sure that A) it's illegal for them to be wrong (since it deals with taxation) and B) they are checked & calibrated regularly by trading standards.

If you still reckon they're out, then let me know so I can buy some shares in tinfoil. ;)

Thing is, Fuel has gone up, but so has everything else. Yes, 15 years ago, when I passed my test, fuel was around 50p a litre. So, it's gone up by less than a pound in 15 years. House prices have trippled, the cost of cars has doubled (if not trippled), etc, etc.

The actual company selling the fuel would make more money if the taxation was adjusted so that we weren't paying VAT on duty.

Lastly, pumps are accurate, always. In fact, they are often set in the motorists favour, as the AA found out less than 2 months ago after a long and tedious survey.

Bus ticket prices also increase all the time. Funnily I've never once been interested in, and absolutely refused to learn how to drive, and then at 24 I found I have a medical condition that you're not allowed to drive with.

Then you are entitled to a national free bus pass.

Then you are entitled to a national free bus pass.

It would apply to west yorkshire only and I only use the bus like 1-2 times a year because it makes me even sicker than anything else. I never bothered getting one. Go go online grocery shopping!

I take my meds, get on a bus, and get off it with constant richochetting back and forth / bouncing up and down vertigo for the next 4-6 hours. Sux.
