2500k Stock vs Overclock

Hi :).

I was wondering how big of an effect an overclock of around 4-4.4GHz would have compared to stock in various tasks on a 2500k? Specifically Gaming (Both CPU and Non-CPU demanding games) and video rendering such as in Vegas. I'm asking this as I'm wondering if it's worth the extra 60 quid to get a Z68/Z77 Mini-ITX board over a cheap H61 board that does everything I require other than overclock well Basically at all :p). Also how much of a difference is there between a 4 pin CPU power connector and an 8 pin in terms of overclocking if any at all?

which h61 board are you looking at?

Also how much of a difference is there between a 4 pin CPU power connector and an 8 pin?
4 pins :D
it just means that the board requires a bit more power with the extra 4pins.
your PSU 'should' have 2xpin cpu power plugs, thye just plug in side by side on the 8pin boards.

Meant in terms of overclocking :p. Just wondering if the reduced power may lead to smaller overclocks.

The reduced power will lead to smaller overclocks your right. Ivy's take about 77w and sandy CPUs takes about 95w at their stock clock speeds. On the one 4pin you're looking at circa ~120w I THINK. So you'd be ok for stock clock speeds, but if you're over clocking I'd be looking at 8pin boards for a bit more power.
I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will correct ;)

And at ~£30 that looks a good little board.
 
Yeah, it looks really good other than the fact you can't fiddle with the multiplier on it :(. You were looking for a Mini-ITX board weren't you? Don't let me stand in the way if you want it :).

That's Micro-ATX unfortunately, not Mini-ITX.

I don't really see the point of getting a 2500k if you're not going to OC :)

I already have a 2500k but I want to downsize my case to a Bitfenix Prodigy to make it easier to move around which is where the problem lies. All decently priced Mini-ITX boards are H series boards which don't overclock and chaning CPU is redundant as locked multiplier chips cost more than I paid for my 2500k in the first place :(.
 
If you overclocked to say 4.4 GHz, that would be a 33% increase. In my opinion it would be worth it since i game a lot
