The Scottish victimhood mentality and inferiority complex

Even considering the poster of this thread...

I shall at least try to add some serious comments.

It is called culture, it is not hard to describe, plus why would we want a superiority complex? for what...personal stifling? pfft...

Such things are for nations that are long since dead. *cough*

Haven't read all the replies but yes you've hit the nail on the head, can be incredibly hateful up here(and i hate that) because of the influence the Church of Scotland has had on people, end of story. The fear that Roman Catholicism will take over, I am not taking sides here but that's just the way it is, smallish population and some big opinions and basically all goes back to the reformation when various individuals rejected Catholicism, so blame John Calvin(or thank him of course) .

It's generally a great country overall and the people are usually very reasonable and fair but your right there is that hateful streak.

Since when has it been ok to be openly racist on this forum?

If the word "Scottish" was replaced with "Blacks" in the OP, would this thread still be running? I would doubt it.

I thought this was a very attentively moderated forum?

Idiots who invented the TCP/IP you're using to communicate right now.
Contrasted with the man who intends to be the president who doesn't know why you can't open windows on an aeroplane. It takes all sorts.

It's actually Scots

It could have been worse, he could have said "Scotch" :p
I swear I heard Jackie Stewart say Scotch the other day, I was like, "Wuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut. Surely you mean whisky, sir?"

Jackie Stewart can say whatever he likes. :p

I've got a fair amount of Scottish family. I'd usually go out of my way to avoid many of them until they get a couple of drinks out of the way, then they're some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. :D

And here's me thinking being Scottish was a nationality and not a race. Put it back in the deck eh? Oh, and good job proving his point about a victim complex.

Maybe you should check the meaning of long words like racism before offering an opinion, might save you from looking like a fool in the future.

That's because Scottish people (well most anyway) don't take themselves THAT seriously. If you can't laugh at yourself then there is something wrong with you. Seriously, don't be one of those types that have a chip on their shoulder and take offence at everything... The World has that covered already.

Scots are not fully functioning until a few drinks are consumed ;)

How dare anyone have a go at Ivor Cutler.

The man who coined the ditty, "women with large breasts should wear a rucksack, or else they'll fall over" is to be applauded for his wisdom.

I have nothing but love for a nation that was so feared by the Roman Empire that they walled them in! (or out, depending on which side of the wall you were on)

No Glasgow meet for the OP next month then?

I know the guy that plays Jacko, next time I see him I'll be sure to remind him of his racist nature.

Jacko is fun and plays the typical soldier role really well :D

I do miss the other guy though. I forget his name but the right "geezer" type guy that was in the previous 2 series... "oi oi" was one of the things he kept saying :D
