Same as the one I posted up few posts up from. Got some more back up players for fitness.

Playing 4-5-1 but I think 2 up is the best way , just can't afford to change everyones formation. Changed to 4-1-2-1-2 in game and it seemed to work really well.

same here - mini bronze for 4 days and now a mini silver with naff all!

Mini silver pack bah! 2 players in it thats all I have an all gold first 11 but all subs are bronze/silver. Chemistry is 100 though rating average of 75 team is prem based, Hopefully do me okay for first week till i get get the players i want.

Also did you all quick sell the bronze players you were given? Ive tried since the web app started to sell them for 150 coins they just wont go

You have to, you can't carry it over from Fifa 12 (thankfully, as I didn't play UT in Fifa 12).

I got a mini gold pack free today, which had a German keeper, in 4-1-2-1-2 (which is perfect as I play that formation, and have a Bundesliga team), a couple of consumables, and a 2k coin card. Not a bad haul for nothing

I don't think there is a dummies guide but the guys on here will be happy to help out. They know far more about UT than I do, so can give you good advice on how best to start and what kind of players to try to get.
